I miss Dream's unquenchable thirst to win. I miss Mario Elie's kiss of death. I miss Sam Cassell's giant balls dragging on the court. I miss big shot Bob nailing dagger after dagger. I miss Hakeem and the reason why I'm a Rocket fan Drexler embracing after they set out to do what they planned to do from day 1 Clyde joined. I like winners. Guys that elevate play in playoffs and not fold. Make Houston Clutch Again please.
How about the years before Harden? Oh right, we couldn't even make the playoffs...yeah that sounds way better
I'm sorry, but what does this do for the Rockets??? Why on earth should we be taking back Deng or Mozgov's contract? Those are 2 of the worst contracts in the league. The Lakers have decent assets, key word being decent. The best thing that they have is a potential top 3 protected pick, but they could easily lose that pick to the Sixers. So we move forward with some decent assets and some terrible contracts added to our books after getting rid of Harden. I can't wait.
Is Harden afraid of success? I think it deserves it's own thread. I went from whining about the legitimacy of Harden's MVP candidacy for 5 months to thinking he is playoff bum.. what a turn of events.
Man don't **** with the tampon boys they keep ding dong ditching my mum and throwin rocks at my p***y
How quickly they forget. Back then we weren't even talking about if player X can or can't win us a championship or if player Y could be the 2nd star that we need in order to make us a contender, we were just hoping and praying to slide into the playoffs as an 8th seed.
He's good at attending classes on a regular basis and turning in homework (regular season ****). When it comes to exam time if he isn't sitting by his buddies to copy off of (teammates not stepping up) or teacher makes different versions of the test (different defenders to guard him) he's ****ed. Only Harden can average an A before the final exam and bomb so badly he ends up with a C-
Nah, the team was very good but still flawed. They had a concept what works in the regular season and what would have mediocre success in the playoffs. In the playoffs you need gritty players who are good at execution and not just 3 pt shooters who shoot way beyond the line. You need players who make plays, every player on the bench should be battle tested and come in and make plays in the clutch, if Harden can't.
HEY GUYS REMEMBER THE GOOD OLD DAYS WHEN WE GOT BLASTED OUT OF THE FIRST ROUND EVERY YEAR WHILE T-MAC AND YAO TRADED SEASON ENDING INJURIES? REMEMBER WILLIAMS AND BOOZER MAKING THE ROCKETS THEIR b****? REMEMBER THE LOCKOUT SEASON WHERE WE CHOKED AT THE END AND MISSED THE PLAYOFFS? 14TH SEED. UNDERSIZED POWER FORWARDS. No I don't miss that **** at all wtf. Oh yeah. Let's not forget the "big three" year where T-Mac turned into a bum when the season started, Yao died in the playoffs, and Ron Artest bailed on this sorry ass team straight to the Lakers and won a championship.
so u like winners but mention clowns like D'angelo Russell and dudes like WCS as guys you'd want back in a trade... you'd want CJ or Dame who are both worse than Harden and have never even been to a conference finals, matter of fact, they've never even been to a game 6 in the 2nd round u like winners but would want Ben Simmons who couldn't even carry his team to the NCAA tournament...
That's cute and all ... BUT ... they DESPERATELY need another star. He got tired both games guarding the bigs. NeNe getting hurt of course didn't help, but he isn't gonna go down there in the paint guarding bigs then be our only offensive weapon. Lou Williams and Ryan Anderson were absentee during these series!!! Yeah Ryan had , I think 1 decent game BUT OVERALL he was missing with Lou!! That also hurt us!! But more than ANY OF THAT ^^^^^^^^^^^ I just mentioned.. They need a new Defensive Coordinator. A TRUE Defensive Coordinator!!!!! Chucking up 3's and trying to out score the opponent is cute during the regular season but ain't gonna cut it come playoff time!! Those teams prepare and are too good!!!
People mock and laugh Pop but this is why he does this in the regular season. This is exactly why in a primetime game against the Warriors he's sitting all his starters and core players and letting his bench guys get experience in a big game against good teams.
You essentially have the tank placeholders of Deng / Mozgov. Have a player like Russell, top 3 pick this year, and likely a top pick the following year. Either build with that, or wait a year or two and find the next Harden type trade with the assets you have and find a guy who resets the championship window. If he's 28 beginning of the season and the Warriors dominate the conference for the next 4 years, and Houston doesn't have the ability to obtain 2 more star plays, why not blow it up and reset the window?
I mean if you want to go back 20+ years, yeah sure... When have the rox been in the WCF prior to James taking us there? Oh? We had an 18 year drought before James took us there, you say? Na, you're right let's trade the best player we've had on the team since Hakeem for a lottery pick that we hope turns out maybe as good as Harden...sounds awesome
Sorry, man but against the Lakers we showed more grit than in this series which was good but not great now in retrospect. We took the Champs to 7 (Lakers). The Spurs are hardly champs (without TP and KL), they are second tier contenders behind GSW and Cavs. Artest took the name World Piece and everything was falling apart after that. That was hard to swallow.
I get people mad at James... Maybe James will never be the Batman...he's still a damned good piece on a team. That's the main reason you don't trade him. I mean really, really, look at teams that are now without their stars. Some teams go DECADES without even being relevant again. Look at the Wolves after KG...6ers after Iverson, Knicks have been a complete mess since Ewing left, the Kings after Webber...I mean really...if you trade Harden for picks you are risking irrelevancy for decades. How about...we keep Harden and try to pair him with other players? If Harden still hasn't won a chip by 33 so what? Now we can rebuild and move on, doesn't make any sense to me to just give up on him or concede to the Warriors. Where is the fun in that?
