Strong picks, but Seinfeld's gotta be in the mix. Maybe replacing South Park? Tough call though.

My top 5 in no particular order

    The IT Crowd
    Arrested Development
    Night Court
    Carol Burnett Show
    I Love Lucy

    Honorable Mention
    M*A*S*H
    Taxi

I think some of the older shows really stand the test of time and are still funny today, however many of todays shows won't be funny anymore in another decade - ex: The Cosby Show was hilarious when it came out..but now when I watch it..its just corny.

Ones that I personally watched a lot of (I liked Seinfeld, but I wasn't a devoted watcher and many classics were before my time).

    In no particular order.

    Arrested Development
    Married With Children
    Cheers
    Simpsons
    South Park

Always Sunny/Archer/Big Bang are tied for 5th.
Then comes Modern Family and Community.

    Seinfeld
    NewsRadio
    Peep Show
    Arrested Development

Really hard to decide the 5th but I'll settle on...Three's Company.

Some good choices so far. I was tempted to surprise myself and put Frasier, but then my favorite Frasier episodes were when they had Three's Company scenarios so I just went with that.

EDIT: Oh wait, totally forgot. SNL instead of Three's. Despite it's ups and downs, I still have an incredible fascination with the show on tv and behind the scenes. Easily top 5.

    Let's start the show.

If you watched it live, then I don't think anything can compare to how many lols ensued.

Seinfield/Curb/Simpsons, are obviously funny and great shows, but I have never laughed more than watching Chappelle. I guess if the argument is "best" and not funniest, then I can see several shows beating Chappelle out.

This made me laugh... in a really good way. Those good old 60s-70s shows!
In that note, Monty Python's Flying Circus ftw!
