Casualties of War is a solid movie.

Has Last of the Mohicans been mentioned?

    I can't do just five:

    "Platoon"
    "Saving Private Ryan"
    "Full Metal Jacket"
    "Apocalypse Now"
    "The Big Red One"
"The Bridge on the River Kwai"
    "The Thin Red Line"
    "We Were Soldiers"
"Attack Force Z" ( I have a soft spot for this film since it was from 1982 and had Uzi machine guns/Australians in it (one of Mel GIbson's/Sam Neill's earliest films))
There's another one or two I know I'm missing.

On a side note, I did not like "The Great Escape" at all. I only saw it a few years back. Hated it!

He couldn't go 1 klick without a golf cart, much less carry that gun and needed gear.

oh yeah. ive made that argument many times.

dances with wolves seems to be overlooked in the pantheon of "greatest westerns". i think it should be up there.

if there is ever a blood meridian movie/HBO mini-series i wouldnt mind costner directing. mel gibson would be my pick if he wasnt a bat-s*** crazy anti-semite.

I always thought that younger John Goodman would be a good Judge, there's not a whole lot of people who can play that role.

There were some parts with Heath Ledger that were unnecessary but I cant not watch it if it is on.

Jason Isaacs was *so* over the top as the villain, it was actually pretty funny

Good choice. I like to think of Marlon Brando playing the role kind of like Kurtz from Apocalypse Now.
