Great news for the Texans. Crazy how a guy fresh off of 1 and only year which was bad as DC can get a job just like that.
Well, in that we know Vrabel does something well (coach linebackers) that means now that the Titans have a better head coach than the Texans do.
1 year as a DC for a mediocre at best defense to head coach. Interesting Can't say I wish him the best as he is now in the same division so I hope he fails...hard lol
Titans will get much better now. And one more Houston sports media narrative will find its way into file 13.
Will be interesting to see if the defense rebounds with Romeo back in charge (I'm assuming). Vrabel could end up as a good HC. It's a different skill set than being a coordinator. Being a CEO/Leader of Men type HC could be his niche just so long as he doesn't try to be the HC/DC. It will be interesting to see if he can be a more effective HC than he was a DC.
For sure, going from the RAC defense to the RAC defense should be a great boost for the defense.....a boost that will have absolutely nothing to do with getting nearly the entire front 7 back healthy.
All depends on who he hires as coordinators and assistants. That's the only way this works for the Titans. I'll bet that's how he sold himself in the interviews.
Of course I get it, last season the Texans defense was held down by the awful RAC system (and missing almost all of their starters) but next year the amazing RAC system will lead to the Texans defense taking over the world (also they'll have almost all of their starters back healthy)
Romeo could lose 11 starters and he's not putting that piece of crap product on the field that Vrabel did. Romeo is responsible for Bouye, Simon & Demps coming out of nowhere and getting paid. Vrabel did the exact opposite. Wait and see the difference next year
