Interesting. Were some of them more local's spots vs tourist's spots? I never really had extraordinarily bad service in the UK. Some experiences were better than others, but no different than in the US. Then again, most of my time was spent in Cambridge and London, so experiences may be a little different than smaller, mostly British, towns. I spent a little over a month in Spain and lived with a Spanish friend... my god were those some long dinners. Even when it was just the 2 of us, it was a minimum of a 90 minute event (starting at 9pm lol).
It can’t be healthy for a certain posters blood sugar to wake up every morning and find a thread to complain in.
