Assuming this is not a troll post, you don't pay someone like Ariza $15M. Moute must have been more damaged than we fans knew about if Morey let him walk so easily though.
You can trade Ariza or Moute. You can dump him for an underpaid contract easily. You can pay Ariza 2-year 20 million to keep him too, then deal him next summer. anything is possible.
Biggest question here is that if Durant joins Lakers, Clippers or Knicks, are we the giant favorite to win the championship next season? yes or no? I'll be exciting if we can have one year of giant favorite to win the championship.
unless we get Jimmy Butler for EG and picks, ppl are going to be massively disappointed at the end of the playoffs i think way too many Rocket fans are overhyping this year's team while conveniently forgetting Warriors got significantly better. but then again, we can pray that the Warriors somehow lose all their top guys to injury though it seems unlikely because they're always so healthy in the playoffs.
The OP is proving prescient. This team is nowhere near where they should be much less anywhere as good as last year’s team. IMHO Morey got seduced by the chase for Carmelo at the expense of proven assets and proven chemistry with Ariza and Mbah a Moute Worse still, I think we are falling behind in a league that caught up and playing at a faster pace. This team looks: 1. Slow 2. Unbalanced 3. Overly complacent and 4. Has No real identity And it’s not the offensive juggernaut that we need to be to be winning with this roster. Please Morey. Blow this up and look at it with fresh eyes. For all the talk about statistics. Why do you defer back to “it can’t hurt to get more Team USA” players? Because it can hurt! For bloated contracts and simple age. At some point more and more fans will revolt and realize this is barely a .500 team.
