Just think about it for a second.

Last season, we ended the season with this team:
    Beverley - Lin - Canaan
    Harden - Daniels - Hamilton
    Parsons - Garcia - Covington
    Jones - Montejunas - Casspi
    Howard - Asik - Powell

A nice team but lacked depth in the wings and was too offensive oriented with only Beverley, Asik and Howard as plus defenders. Unless we got extremely hot, we weren't a title favorite.

Currently, this is what our team looks like:
    Beverley - Terry - Canaan
    Harden - Brewer - Shved - Johnson
    Ariza - Pap
    Smith - DMo - Jones
    Howard - Dorsey/Black - Capella

Now this team has serious balance and depth! Look at that starting 5; potentially the best/most talented starting 5 in the NBA. Last year's starting PF is arguably our 3rd best PF this year with the emergence of DMo and signing of Smith. This team can go all the way! And this is before making a possible move for Dragic, Wright or whoever.

Seriously a great, great job by Morey! In seven months, he has basically rebuilt and improved this team while maintaining its main pieces (Harden, Howard, Beverley, Jones, DMo) and adding valuable veteran leadership and depth. Just unthinkable, really!

I remember Morey was under such fire after what happened in the offseason. But just like the "Basketball Reason" Scandal, Morey has, somehow (and potentially), came out on top, once again! Bosh and Melo are both hurt, Parsons is an overpaid role player, Rondo is not the same player he once was, yet here is Morey and his "flexibility gameplan" getting Ariza, Terry, Brewer, and now Smith!

Just goes to show that no matter how bad it is looking, Morey is always on the hunt to improve this team. If the team needs something, he will be aggressively look for it without overspending or ruining future opportunities. I know he gets a lot of love around here but in moments like these, you just have to step back and admire the work he has done.

In Morey We Trust and suck it, Cuban! :)

This team needs to cut Pap's minutes.

He is soft, plays bad defense, and can't shoot that well.

His TO's outweigh his creating ability on top of that!

Shooting takes some time to adjust but his defense has not been bad by any means.

We certainly have a sick defensive team with the addition of Brewer and Smith. Can't wait to see it in action.

Go back to 2 years and 3 years and your head will explode. Darnell Murray is pretty darn decent.

It goes deeper than that really

Prior to the Harden trade which happened super late (remember training camp and exhibition was over - he was literally trade to the team before the first game)

This was our expected lineup to start the season 2 years ago:

Jeremy Lin, Toney Douglas, Shaun Livingston
    Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb
Chandler Parsons, Carlos Delfino, Royce White
Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris, Terrence Jones
    Omer Asik, Greg Smith, D-Mo

    plus
    Future Toronto Lotto Pick

All that is now flipped into:

Patrick Beverley, Isiah Cannan, Nick Johnson
    James Harden, Jason Terry
Trevor Ariza, Corey Brewer, Kostas Papanikolaou
    Josh Smith, Terrence Jones
Dwight Howard, D-mo, Black or Dorsey

    plus
    Future NO lotto pick

That is just amazing preparation, luck and creativity.

I'm just in awe of this man. I think it says on his twitter that Luck is when Opportunity meets Preparation, and no one does it better than him. Also when he said you "gotta find the Chandler Parsons not pay them", this is even better than that! Getting a proven NBA vet that is a stud in defense for virtually nothing is such a steal of epic proportions. This cannot fail!!

    Oh really?

You didn't get tired of Will Barton and co running PNR to get Papa on the switch.

I do, and it sure wasn't pretty.
