This doesn't really annoy me terribly, but ALL of my commercials on Pandora and YouTube are Grainger. I can recite like 4 of their ads verbatim. Grainger. For the ones that get it done.

I was having this intermittent issue with what I thought was my HVAC system. There were intermittent noises (think of a high-pitched sound in 1 second bursts (like an "AHH")...almost like an alarm but the sound is inconsistent; usually, a few happen...it stops for a bit...a few happen...it stops for a bit...etc).

So, I cranked my central AC on and started hearing these intermittent noises (sometimes, no noise at all). I rush to the attic with camera in hand to capture what I thought was my blower possibly being the culprit (so I can send the video to my HVAC company) and making these odd noises coming through the ducts and vents. But, nothing. It seems to be running fine. Then, I go to the outside unit to see if it is making any noises on start-up or while running that may be making their way inside and, subsequently, through the ducts and vents. Again, nothing.

So, inside again, I wait for the noises again and end up at a return vent on the other side of the home. I stand under it and hear these intermittent noises. They seem a little bit louder here but still hard to ascertain where they are coming from. I get the ladder and get up there looking around. Don't really see anything. So, I just decide to tighten the screws on the return vent cover. They didn't seem loose and the cover seemed on good but there was room for tightening. It is a relatively new return vent installed with my HVAC a few years back. Then, no more noises and this crazy sound (albeit not hugely loud but audible in a quiet room and annoying) that was reverberating around my house through the system appears to have gone away.

I'm monitoring it but so far so good. Talking about annoying. I would never equate that sound I was hearing to the return vent cover being slightly loose. I guess the HVAC, airflow, and ducting was distorting the sound. It made no sense for a while. lol

I have one exhaust vent that constantly flaps from the wind. I put rubber on the bottom of the screen to muffle it, but you can still hear a constant tapping as it flaps against the screen. I need to install a larger cover so the wind can't catch the flap.

Then, right next to that kitchen exhaust, is the downstairs 1/2 bath exhaust. There's a ****ing family of birds living there because it didn't have a screen and somehow they have no issue getting the flap up to get inside. The vent is about 12 feet up and I sucked up the nest with a shop-vac. It came out piiiiisssssed. Nearly fell off the ladder. My lazy ass procrastinated though and didn't put on a screen right away and it moved back in and now has chicks.

I was being generous there. Just tried to make a bunch of nachos with a bag of tortilla chips from the HEB bakery and 75% of them were crap.

95% of people driving during a thunderstorm. Especially the people who turn their hazards on. If you do this, **** you.

I'll add people passing on a divided highway in fog so thick you can't see 20' ahead to that. When I used to drive from Corpus to Kingsville on a country hwy to work I hated foggy days. People would pass two cars to get past a big ass cotton truck or combine when you couldn't see if someone was coming at a distance. I was always scared of getting caught in a pile-up collision when those idiots did that.
