I smell bs on that bolded part. Durant shot and made much more than 3-5 from 2 with a defender within 2feet of him. It seems a lot got categorized as 2-4ft

 

I was thinking, how many open looks did we miss? Not a big difference. Not as big as I thought, based on those stats, except for the "4-6ft" shots, and that's more because of more shots taken by GS. I keep seeing Durant shooting over our defense. I'd like to see the stats on the shots attempted by KD when defended by Capela, who defended far better than I might have expected. Tucker can defend Green, in my opinion. I think it's clear that we need to switch Capela and Tuck's assignments, based on the small sample size and just using my eyeballs.

According to NBA.com he was:

2-4 on 0-2 foot Defender shots.

7-15 on 2-4 foot defender shots.

I don't know how player tracking really differentiates or what it uses for distance.

I mean, I'd rather try a jumper against a Chris Paul 2 feet away from me than Clint Capela 3 feet away from me.
