Ricky Council IV has already seen Nick Nurse’s coaching pay (very) early dividends. Council has focused on changing his shooting form with guidance from Sixers head coach Nick Nurse. “It’s definitely better than before summer league,” he said at the Sixers’ media day. “I’ve been working on it every day with (player development associate coach Toure’ Murry) and Coach Nurse looking over it — and (assistant coach Rico Hines). So just steady improvements. … I’m just looking forward to the season.” https://www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.c...ay-contract-waive-azuolas-tubelis-nba/542573/
I’m an Arkansas fan, he played for us last year. Ricky wasn’t drafted for a reason, he shoots a medicine ball. Super inconsistent. Freak athlete and solid defender but those traits don’t you a roster spot let alone minutes in the NBA. If he develops a shot he could be a nice spark plug off a bench, younger Gerald Green esque
So basically if he doesn't pan out... we waste his rookie contract instead of swindling some other team for his "upside"? I don't like that strategy.
Sadly the rest of that list is hardly a who's who of top guards, but the G-league is unfortunately under-utilized. Cam needs NBA burn!
Brooks can play SG Bullock can play SG Holiday can play SG Whitmore can play SG Just bench Green FFS ! DD
Or you get coals in return. Nothing is guaranteed. These lottery players are investments. Again it’s a marathon and growth takes time. What boggles my mind is all the blame has been shifted to one player meanwhile FVV is shooting 40% less than 5 ft and 36% 5-9 ft. 43% overall in restricted area and 37% in the paint non Restricted area. He has never been a dominant paint scorer or dribble drive player in his career but forced to in this system. We saw him clank several shots in critical situations last night instead of setting up the offense. This is part of the reason the offense stalls or results in a defensive rebound. FVV is not and shouldn’t be a second scorer on this team. But no one is talking about this. Instead all the blame is put on one player for some reason. Lots of hatred on this site.
That’s interesting. Amen may deserve more playing time for sure. He is a very raw player but a lot of potential as it’s evident especially in last night’s game. Saw how Udoka gave him opportunity to drive with couple sets including a five out set. He split defense couple times. The Rockets may likely see Amen as the PG of the future getting vet guidance from FVV. What’s also interesting is FVV has a team option in his 3rd year. I don’t believe FVV is a long term option but a guy who is here to establish culture and to teach for couple years.
There's nothing to swindle his stock is as low as his 3 PT percentage. It's better to wait and see if he blows up. We don't really lose much value if he leaves in FA compared to trading him at his lowest point and the w watching him blow up with another team.
FVV is still shooting 3s at a high clip and is one of our more consistent spacers. He is a lot more dependable than Jalen Green when it comes to providing spacing, and obviously for a team that has a dominant post presence like Sengun spacers are key. So it doesn't matter if he isn't that efficient scoring near the hoop, him being a good shooter increases the shooting percentage of everyone else. If Jalen is shooting 3s at the same clip as FVV nobody would be going after his ass. Instead Jalen is shooting 3s at 31% and his TS% is at WB level which is terribad. Opponents are starting to key on this and leaving him wide open to go clog the paint which is part of the reason FVV is having a hard time scoring inside.
