http://www.theatlantic.com/politics...nt-that-into-the-democratic-coalition/278097/ I thought the republican's no. 1 goal was to make Obama a one term president. Now they stand with the president?
I must certainly admit that I am impressed, Air. You take an article which discusses how "coalition politics isn't as simple as Republicans versus Democrats", and then proceed to completely miss the point by using it to bash Republicans. It takes a certain level of...something to think like that.
I find it hilarious (and at the same time almost tragic) that the OP is doing more to highlight the hypocracy of the Republicans rather than blaming this on both the President and the Republicans -- Hell, may as well throw the Democrats in there too, because I'm doubtful any of them are against this (except maybe Kucinich). The fact is, this policy should be considered disgusting to anybody with any inclination of support for the 4th Amendment. The President, the Judiciary, and all of Congress -- Republican and Democrat -- should be burning at the stake for this! But they aren't because we're too concerned with making the other side look bad. Its a real shame, and is a perfect illustration as to why nothing will ever change and why we have a general public that is becoming more and more apathetic and distrustful of their government.
