No respect, that's the key reason vets dunt wanna stay; one good turn deserves another - one day…maybe our boys will learn from how they (tilman n stone) treat these vets, n give no respect to this franchise as long as someone could give them better offers. No respect, no bind between players n the franchise, therefore no culture. A tough road ahead man. Nice vlog from Rockets Chop Shop, share w you guys.
This rebuild has fractured our fanbase beyond repair. Even when the team starts winning you will have player only factions thumbing their nose if their fave player isnt the one who is in charge of the turnaround. Never thought it would go down like this and that we would have so many "fans" who seem to only enjoy talking down and trashing the team at every turn.
I didn't expect the PR situation to be that bad. I hope they turn it around, I don't want to be old Sactown 2.0 or Sterling owned Clippers. At least there is no racism or anti semitism right?
I told you gazzilion times. Tanking is a ponci scheme, it's a fools gold. Top picks are a fools gold. Every young player drafted to NBA is equally talented.
Hmmm. I think it's because we are losing that this trend becomes more noticeable for u. During hardens time, there was always folks btching about hardens playstyle, his turnovers, his poor performance etc. When we lose folks were gloating about how much a choker harden was etc. Since there's not clear cut superstar, u see factions of folks itching to sht on a player they don't like when we lose. There's some folks though that take it above and beyond are just actively rooting for players to suck so they can btch about it. It will b much worse next year.
The same here… ftank58, the host of Rockets Chop Shop once said in a certain vlog - teams usually take 5-8yrs to accomplish their rebuilding (in this process they will change at least 2-3 HCs n 2 GMs)…i think our rebuilding may take longer, that means we fans will witness a much more frequent personnel movements before tilman luckily draft his 'hakeem', 'mj' or 'mamba' who he love to invest on…his ture golden eggs in another words.
Not like this. Things have taken a personal turn among contributors here and all because of what? Because our own individual fan preference and basketball opinions dont align with one another? It was never this ugly and personal around here -- ever.
Let be clear, there have been posters who highly criticized Franchise, Yao, McGrady, Harden, and basically every player that has been on the Rockets; except maybe Chuck Hayes and Boban. There is just no other topics to discuss right now, because the team is so young and playing poorly. People also forget, this is forum is one of the most active sports forum I have ever found. Y'all put up so many posts and threads, that it is crazy busy.
For rebuilds to go quickly, you need to be able to draft stars. If what you come away with is playing like a taller Ariza who can't shoot and a Zach LaVine type who can't shoot and is the worst defensive player in the league.....well, it's a setback.
This.... This right here is EXACTLY why Stone should be held out to the fire. Not because of his draft selections or his return for the Harden trade. It's not having respectable veterans to go along with the young guys and having rotations of just developing players that should be the main criticism of Stone. And the people who say next season is the right time to get vets, no. Adding vets this season isn't going to get us out of the Wemby sweepstakes. Ranking teams have veterans. We don't.
Not retaining DJ Augustine was a mistake. He was the closest thing we had to a competent vet pg since Harden.
Jalen Green's alleged big brother is KPJ. Imagine if he said Conley Jr or CP3. How much better would you feel about our young guys then? That's statement there is all the testament to Stone's failure here.
You still trying to blame KPJ for Jalen Green being terrible at basketball thus far? LOL Is KPJ the reason Jalen Green is the worst defensive player in the league? Is KPJ the reason Jalen Green can't hit open 3's?
I can’t recall when vets ever wanted to play for a young lottery bound team unless they had no other options or would get paid more than elsewhere. I think it’s actually quite normal. It’s not like vets are signing up to play for the Spurs even though they have a great org and coach. Same for Orlando, I haven’t seen vets say they can’t wait to play with Banchero. Even when Kobe started out his own teammates were not excited to play with him. Give it a couple of years and they will be lining up as our players get older and establish themselves. I think it would be very odd for a vet to come out and say they would want to play for the Rockets at this time. It would be saying something if a vet such as Gordon left to end his career early than play with our guys. But like all vets they just want to win before their career is over.
