Oh wait, this is the Ranger bashing thread. Where is the Yankees?

Stanton has more strikeouts (20) than total bases (18) to this point. Ha Ha

    Acceptable post.

This thread title and theme should just be changed into some variation of "talk **** about the rest of MLB"

To be fair, Yankees are on pace to break MLB record for team homers despite the Ks.

    ...and miss the playoffs :)

    (unless a .500 record gets a wildcard)

Oh I have no doubt that'll keep the espn "dig the longball" types in a tizzy all season. Mission accomplished.

I was always told you shouldn't laugh at others misfortune, but I really can't seem to stop myself.

When the opposing "other" has been laughing at you for over a decade, I think a counter response is justified.

How're the prospects they gave up to get Cole doing?

That's how this whole thing really falls apart... especially if there's a stud pitcher that has more upside/promise than whatever Cole delivered for the Rangers.

To compare that to the Astros situation of just a few years back.... it was an enormously dumb/short-sighted move to trade prospects for Miguel Tejada. That being said, the Astros didn't really lose a future all-star... unless you count 30 year old Luke Scott, who went on to have some productive enough years with Baltimore (and apparently he's trying to make a comeback now?).

Stanton has spent his entire career in pillowy soft South Beach. He's never faced the kind of pressure and expectations that are being put on him with the Yankees, which is why it was totally preposterous for East Coast honks like Chris Russo to basically hand the title over to them. I do think they'll turn it around, and will be the favorites to at least win the WC, but those expectations are only going to become more stifling as time goes on.

Trey Wingo this morning was talking about Stanton being in the move enviable spot in baseball hitting behind Judge and in front of Didi Gregorius. Like Didi was a legitimate star because he is off to a great 10 game start.

Eickhoff (sp?) has basically equaled Cole Hamels's production by himself, was called up about 4 weeks after the trade, and costs peanuts. He's not what I would call good....but same would go for Hamels.
Alfaro has been decent with lots of power and a ton of Ks to go with it. Good arm which keeps stolen bases for opponents down. Not sure how he will do in the long run as he is living by strong infrequent contact right now.
Nick Williams is basically Derek Fisher except with slightly less upside and sounds like he's a jerk. Rangers should have kept him.

We were talking about Cole Hamels... not Gerrit Cole.

Having lived in the metroplex for the past 8 years, I have realized the Rangers fan base appears to be 30% people born in the metroplex (t-shirt fans because it is a local team), 60% west texans in the tv viewing area, 10% (actually die hard).
