Regular season record was better for 4 years before Astros won the World Series. Most of that was from the last year of the Astros tank. Move one year forward and the Astros regular season record over a 4-year span was better.

Oh I know. I just find it funny what he had said. At the end of the day, championships matter and unfortunately Arlington is far from being a contender.

If he would have said they didn't want to be like the 2009-2013 Astros, that is believable. However, they very much look like they are on the verge of following that path.

I think it's clear that Grant picked that particular sample size for a reason....to get that last tank year into the equation.

Even if he wants to include the tank season in his formula, that's fine. What the Astros had then is what the Rangers don't have now...a plan. Luhnow's plan worked. We won't know if the Rangers plan worked until it all plays out, but they are in a bad spot. High priced vets, little in the farm, and underperformance from the guys who are supposed to be their studs.

Yeah, being over to hold this over Dallas' head is so so SO much better than us having to go back to the 19-10 well we were stuck with for years.

I already hated the Rangers, so I may be a little bit bias here. The way their incompetent front office (mis)handled the Harvey situation, I now have a newfound level of disdain for that entire organization. Congratulations Arlington, your front office/PR staff couldn't make a decision that a 7 year old could've made. I would've been so embarrassed if it was the other way around.

No value add there, just throwing it out there.

Strange decision. Isn't AT&T stadium literally right there? Are there that many entertainment options that require a stadium venue in Arlington?

Baseball stadiums should be different than the cookie-cutter/multi-use football stadiums or basketball arenas. Specific dimensions, specific sight-lines, specific seating configurations, specific grass/dirt/sun needs.

All this tells me is that the team will eventually become dissastisfied and will look to jilt the public for another stadium in 15-20 years (much like they did with the not old Globe Life park).

God, that's delicious. Sometimes...when I'm having a rough day...when the world seems stacked against me...I watch highlights of Nelson Cruz misplaying that ball. And then I remember God loves me.

Watching Elvis Andrus' Game 5 meltdown or Douchned Odor blow it a year later work as well. Oh and that Arlington "Legacy of Failure" video...

Oh no. The Rangers have added Bartolo Colon to a minor league deal. Astros are doomed. Doomed.

Were Sabathia or Rick Reuschel unavailable?
