Play ball. Sanitize the locker room(s)/stadium Get the test results back... This is why you have a 30-man roster and 60-man player pool Wanna cancel at the first sign of problems, shouldn't have started to begin with. And players had the option to opt out (I don't know if they still can or not?)
Screw it man just bring up the Marlins minor leaguers and play on with the healthy players. Records will be what they will be. Sucks for them but it’s a pandemic it’s not totally unexpected.
They do have less people... and they don't have to worry about what they do away from the court (minus the unsanctioned departures)... but there is still the possibility that somebody brings it with them and instead of one team getting impacted, the entire bubble-bound league gets impacted. The only constant differences we can see between US sports leagues, and the rest of the world that has started playing sports, is that the US has no control over the virus in a lot of places. Its just a bad combo at this point.
Even with preparation, they can't change anything that's going on amongst the hot spots in the country. It should have been controlled everywhere by now. Other countries figured out how to do this.
It was insane to think they could pull this off while maintaining travel. The only reason leagues in South Korea and Taiwan, and European soccer leagues, have been able to play home games is because they're societies who can manage this crisis. We are toddlers refusing to eat our vegetables and screaming as the dessert passes our table.
MLB stadiums are huge. There are enough suites at MMP that each home and visiting player could have his own suite. If MLB continues, they need to hire some nuns with meter sticks to enforce safety by busting some knuckles.
I can't believe something like this wasn't in their protocol (not sure if it is or isn't). They had to anticipate that one team could get hit hard at the same time.
Its more the players themselves acting like fools. IMO, MLB made a season possible. But it was up to the players to make good decisions.
With COVID-19 spreading in the clubhouse, why did Phillies, Marlins play Sunday? Was not playing ever considered? "That was never the mentality," Rojas said after the Marlins' 11-6 win over the Phillies. https://www.delawareonline.com/stor...sion-play-yankees-spread-covid-19/5514966002/ Was never the mentality? Really? How could a ongoing pandemic not figure in to ones mentality?
