Looks like they all picked the series to go 6 or 7 games. They may favor the Clips, but they seem to believe it's going to be a tough matchup. Having said that, ESPN still sucks.
We beat them by 10 the 1st game, by 12 in the 2nd game and by 9 in game five. So no sir those games couldn't have went either way. The game we won by 2, we lost a big lead in the 4th, plus Dal was playing at home in playing with desperation. LOL One game, and guess what it happens to ever team in the NBA. Come on man you are reaching.
I guess our fans don't want to put on their Rocket Red Glasses. But that's ok, I will have mines on throughout this series. Rockets in 6
why is this a problem? they just beat the defending champs in 7 games. beating the mavs isnt anywhere close to that. most pple dont even know much about the rockets outside of harden adn howard. you would think getting the 2nd seed would open their eyes a bit but nah.
It's not just about the pick. No one on ESPN is even talking about us at all. We are an afterthought in the same vein as Boston, Brooklyn or Toronto. There's no "how will the Rockets handle Chris Paul? What matchups will decide this series?". It feels like the talking points on ESPN are now, "how much will ticket prices be for Golden State-LAC? Will Steve Ballmer shoot a spitball at that nerd Zuckerberg when the Clipps head for NoCal? YOLO." This is what I am saying thank you ESPN for. It's not sarcasm. It is legitimate thanks, for turning us into not just regular underdogs, but like, football underdogs. Where everyone is really against us, and our lockerroom will be tight as ever because of it. We're the 2002 Pats going against the Greatest Show on Turf (incidentally, Chris Paul spends a lot of time falling down and rolling on the turf anytime he gets near it), or the 2008 Giants against the Undefeated Pats. And the stupid part of this all is that, we aren't worse than the Clippers! Our team, to an unbiased viewer, is just as strong if not stronger than them. If the media wants to spin it the other way around, then Vegas will have a field day. Whatever. Thank you ESPN, for making our endeavor in Round 2 just a little bit easier.
How come, didn't we not win by that many points. LOL I know leads are lost all the time in the NBA. I call it the game of runs. Sorry but in those three games they didn't have a chance.
what, you mean they're not acknowledging the rockets being the 2nd seed despite their starting pf/c missing half the season, being hit with more injuries first two months and last two months of the season, missing two key players for the playoffs including a starter, forcing harden to be 90% of the offense in the rs, while being in the west conference and southwest division where every team made the playoffs? rockets must not be a very good team i guess, right cuban?
The only reason Clipps shouldn't be favorites is CP3's fakeish injury and if it's going to have impact on his play. We are evenly stacked in all positions other than PG and our bench is superior to theirs, but that difference at PG spot is the main reason I give Clipps slight edge over us. They beat freakin Spurs, of course they are the favorites in this series. We beat Dallas - weakest team in West Conf. playoffs this year. Anyway, it's always better to be underdog and upset someone than have high expectations and let everyone down.
I'd like to edit that: our and their starters are similarly equal if our PG is equivalent to their SG Reddick and because Paul and Harden are main ballhandlers. Ariza and Barnes are similar in production, DeAndre and Dwight are also similarly important, Griffin has quite some edge over Jones, but not against Smith and our Brewer is their Crawford. I have no idea who wins the series... This might be even more even than the Spurs series. All I am afraid of is McHale's poor coaching being the factor
The Rockets held the lead probably 85% of the time during all 5 games. (I'd be curious to see an actual stat). The games were nothing like Spurs/Clips gm 7 with 30+ lead changes. The Rockets controlled the four wins basically from the tip. They relinquished the lead here and there but the Rockets held their "mojo". What I like about the Rockets chances is I feel they have untapped potential. They have another gear. Can they hit it? If so, Rockets take the Clips in 5.
Every series is different. You can't judge what teams did in the previous series to this one. It is all about matchups. This will be no different.
I have no problem with someone picking the clippers, they have proven much more than we have. Just let it play out, predictions mean nothing once the games start.
First of all, Dwight was out due to injury all 4 games against the Clips. Over a 7 games our Bench will beat their bench. Their starters having already played heavy minutes against SA will have to do it AGAIN against the Rockets to keep it close. Now Chris Paul is dealing with a hamstring injury...Ariza can defend Paul and it's EXTRA GRAVY to use Ariza with more flexibility on someone else when Paul heads to the Bench. I see the Rockets winning this series.
