Thank you, Mr. Playoff Experience, for costing the Rockets two wins in this embarassment of a series. Nice job bricking countless wide-open threes, and turning the ball over at the greatest of times. Even Steve didn't do that. Nice job. Trade him for a second rounder.
12 points, 20 boards for a 33 years signed to half of the MLE while playing the most minutes of his career.
Nah, if you're going to blame anyone on the Rockets for this one, it's on Steve Francis. Every time I'm about to give Francis his dues, he follows a good performance up with a game like this. He's not ready to be the man in crunch time. It's one thing to make big plays when your up several points. Today was a gut check and when it was on the line, Francis turned the ball over twice in OT and shot an air ball at the end of regulation. More credit needs to go to the Lakers though. They played like crap the whole game, but when it counted, there was Kobe as usual taking over. Francis should take notes.
LOL Oh well ... What can ya do? I can think of 20 things that were stupid on the Rox part. Not doubling Mr. Raper on that one shot was a crucial mistake. But that fumble-fingers Francis play at the end didn't surprise me at all. AT ALL!
ok this thread is dumb.. if u judge JJ by 2 games and not the whole season u got a problem. JJ has played great for us the whole seaon and a big reason we are in the playoffs so get off of him.
I have to disagree here. Jim Jackson almost single handedly kept us in the game, except for the turnover at the end. If you want to pick a fault, when he rebounded with 5 seconds to go in regulation he should have called a time out instead of forcing a shot. But Jackson hit a lot of big shots when the Rockets were losing double digits. And how about 20 rebounds. The Rockets played their hearts out tonight and just didn't come close enough. Three plays cost us the game. 1. Jackson turnover in OT. 2. Yao idiotic foul on Malone. 3. Francis turnover with a minute left in the game. But previous to that, all three guys competed hard. C'mon, maybe it's because they have better players?
You're an idiot. The ONLY reason why we even made 4th quarter comeback is because of Jim Jackson. 16 pts 20 rebs
You know, you're whole pessimism thing is irritating, but I figured that it was just your way of having fun, that nobody could really be that stupid. I stand corrected.
You can't blame this loss on anyone. Without Jackson in the 3rd, this isn't even a game. Without Cato, this isn't a game. Without Francis, this isn't a game. Without Mobley, this isn't a game. The better team won.
The "Better" team did not win....the "Smarter" team won. Missed Free Throws, costly turnovers. Same ole story. Guts with no glory. DD
Look, you guys don't understand my point. I agree with most of what you're saying. I know the other guys, Yao especially with that last foul, all had something to do with that choke. But Jimmy Jackson has been nothing short of horrific whenever the pressure has been on. I am pissed at him for talking all that sh*t about his mighty playoff experience, before the series started. Every other player on the team has been more clutch than him in the final minutes. He gave this game away in the final minute.
For every negative thing that can be said about the Rockets, you could find an event to counter it. Jackson turned the ball over. Kobe drew a mystery #6 foul on Yao. Francis airballed the last shot of regulation. Francis tied the game in regulation. The defense lapsed and Kobe wasn't double teamed for the game winning shot. Cuttino had back to back clutch layups. I'm extremely proud of the Rockets, and that was an unbelievable game. Devastating, but unbelievable. The Lakers must have gone to church this morning.
We understand your point. You are wrong. It is all percentages. Jimmy was playing within the game plan.
