Remember how much fun it was to read the Dallas papers after Week 1 last year? Dolphin fans & sportswriters are not happy. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/columnists/dan_le_batard/6718610.htm
Thanks so much. The writer of the article you cite, acts like the Texans weren't there. It is like the Dolphins were just so bad. No credit for our team at all. He even writes that our offensive line is the worst in league history. The players need to read the Miami articles to get motivated for the Saints. Maybe we will get some respect when we are 5-0.
i hate to doubt them after this weekend...but do you really think they're going to run off 5 straight...week 3 against the Chiefs will be tough. but they might be 2-0 heading into that game. i could definitely see them beating the saints.
yeah Dan Le Batard also said before the game that Dolphins would win 40-3 although i cant find that page on the miami herald web site anymore.. here is another miami writer's prediction "This is about as close to UM-Louisiana Tech as an NFL matchup gets. If this game were a putt, it would be conceded. All of which must have psychologically minded Dave Wannstedt sweaty and pacing, because he'd call this a classic ''trap'' game. The visiting Houstonians are a second-year team coming off a winless preseason, while your highly regarded Dolphonics have won eight straight season openers at home and play the rival Jets next. Trap, trap, bo-bap, banana, fanna, bo-map. Except don't believe it. Super-dreaming Dolphs should cover the weekend's biggest betting line as comfortably as Bill Gates covers a check. Bonus fact: Texans QB David Carr says his boyhood hero was Junior Seau. Small world. Ugly game. • Cote says: Dolphins, 27-0."
"Brian Billick is a jerk and a punk" Why, John? Did he not return your phone call? Thanks for your unbiased reporting...
it's hilarious to hear him talk about how more players should be fined for not talking to the media. cracks me up. that and how the texans shouldn't bother winning games so they can get higher draft picks... i'm trying to remember what he said this morning that i violently disagreed with while driving in to work...it was something about the texans game, but i don't remember now what it was.
I think McClain is the only guy besides Bill Walton who can talk for an entire segment without letting someone else in.... he just talks and talks and talks.... I also can't stand the way he starts out his monologues by thinking every tom, jim, and steve who did this and that for him and made his hot dog extra special and blah blah blah... He should move to Nashville and cover the Titans because he cannot get off their jocks... he also writes for the Tennessean. Too bad he'll be on 610 everyday now that it is football season... "The General" what a joke....

I have been trying to figure out what he does for a living - I usually shut off the radio when he's on so I probably missed it somewhere along the line. It sounds like he's a writer, but he's always blathering on about how he goes to all these football games and goes golfing. How does he afford that? I just get this impression that he's related to some rich guy and is living off of him. And somehow his ability to be able to go to all these games and have lots of time makes his sports opinions matter.
LOL, I thought it was just me. We should start another thread. He truly thinks he is Gods gift to football. He expects all players and coaches to bow down to him and if they don't, he trashes them (see Brian Billick). "I covered this game, and I covered this team, I voted that guy into the Hall of Fame, I didn't vote for that guy..." blah blah blah. Get over yourself, John.
The best was when (not sure how long ago this was) John and Lance busted his balls for going to the Strawberry Festival and picking berries for vacation.
I will admit to some wishful thinking, but it is fun to speculate. The Chief's game is in Reliant isn't it? If they beat the Saints and go 2-0, Reliant will be rocking. Anything can happen in that kind of environment. The big question to soon be answered: are the Texans for real? They looked pretty serious Sunday.
