Well, well... we meet again. We all remember the last second goal line heroics of the last match up, but this week is different entirely. Now Leftwich is playing like he knows what he's doing, and we have a new threat in the "Double D." Carr is banged up, but 'Dre is itching for a score... Houston is just a few plays short of a 4 game win streak, and at least a 3 game one, but Jacksonville wants to keep us from an imminent 2 game franchise first. How will it go down for the Texans on the road? I say - Texans 14 Jags 10 - in a close one.
Texans 27 Jags 17 Davis 22carries 115yds 1td Johnson 5catches 85yds 2td Leftwich 250yds 3Int 2td Taylor 20carries 92yds J. Smith 8catches 120yds 2td
I would love for the Texans to win, but I think the uncertainty at the QB position will affect us... Texans: 24 Jags: 31
Another chance for The Texans first ever back to back wins. Another shot at a season sweep of a team (Jags last year was the first unless you want to count the teams they played only once) in the same place where the Texans got their first ever road win. I think it is going to be a tough one. The Texans are probably fired up and want that back to back and sweep all in the same game. Lets not forget Redmond and Stroud. The Jags probably did not like seeing the Texans celebrate right in front of them the last time they met. I think this is going to be a very physical and close game. Texans by 3. __________________________________________ I was lurking on a jags message board and they kept referring to the Texans as the "Texicans"............I don't get.
what about the uncertainty at RB..If Davis can't go then Hollings former Gtech start will get the nod. I Hope that Hollings can return to pre-injury (college) form.
From everything I have heard, it will be Ragone and Hollings starting today. Who's to say what will happen throughout the game, but with those two at the helm, there is a lot of inexperience leading the team. If we can manage to pull out a win today, the defense is going to have to SERIOUSLY step up and limit Fred Taylor. It will be fun to get to see Ragone and Hollings, though.
This game has been ugly for the Texans so far. Nothing is working for them. Why did Hollings start today? No Carr today, or Davis so far. i don't think Carr is going to ever leave the lockerroom today. I hope something will happen for the Texans. 1 more quarter left. 17-0 JAX.
The texans had a rookie QB making his first start and a running back with 18 career NFL carries. I think it was a given that they would struggle. Hopefully next week Domanick Davis can come back.
Damn, I didn't even halfway expect us to win, and I thought competing was hoping for a bit much but I didn't expect to be totally embarassed. I'm thinking this game did nothing to increase Dave Ragone or Tony Hollings's trade value. If anything, it's lower now.
Give the Jags defense some credit guys... they came to play today no matter who was on the Texans side. In hindisight, I'm not too sure if DD or Carr would have made that much of a difference. They probably wouldn't have been shut-out, but as far as winning the game...?
Hopefully they will do better next week. We'll need to open up the offense a little to have a prayer with Ragone and Hollings. But the worst case scenario is that we keep sliding toward a higher draft pick. We've had the toughest schedule in the league so far and we've been competitive. It was a good season even if we lose out.
I can't see Hollins being an effective back in the NFL. He has great speed but I think Capers should move him to his natural position which is corner. Hopefully Carr and DD will be back Sunday because I can't see any teams Ragone can score on. Bad pick.
Wow, that was ugly. But what do you expect when we're starting our 3rd string QB and 3rd string runningback?
