If you go to the scores page on ESPN for football it has both the Houston link and Denver one. I haven't tried them yet though.

I think Armstrong just wrapped up the 4th receiver spot. :)

As good as our offense looks, our defense looks just as bad.

Denver is pretty much having their way with Dunta Robinson and our D line.

    Denver 31, Houston 17

By JOHN MARSHALL, AP Sports Writer
    August 28, 2004

DENVER (AP) -- The Denver Broncos were hoping to find some kind of offensive rhythm headed into the regular season.

They may have found it just in time.

Jake Plummer threw for 159 yards, ran for score and led Denver's top unit to its first two touchdowns of the preseason, lifting the Broncos to a 31-17 victory over the Houston Texans on Friday night.

Both teams put together game plans and played most of the starters at least a half, treating the game almost as if it were the regular season.

Of course, neither one wanted to show too much because they'll meet again Nov. 7 in Denver, but it was at least encouraging.

Denver did its best to answer questions about its struggling first-team offense, scoring on drives of 68 and 85 yards after managing just four field goals the first three preseason games. Plummer finished 12-for-22 with an interception, Triandos Luke caught a 74-yard touchdown pass and Quentin Griffin had 54 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.

Houston, coming off an embarrassing 35-point loss to Pittsburgh, was just as effective in the first half behind David Carr and Domanick Davis.

Carr threw for 114 yards and a touchdown on 9-of-14 passing before being replaced by Tony Banks early in the second half.

Davis looked sharp after missing the first two preseason games with an ankle injury, getting 49 yards on seven carries. The best of it came early in the second quarter, when he broke six tackles on a 20-yard rumble up the middle.

The Texans started off by doing something that hadn't happened in three preseason games against Denver's first-team defense: score a touchdown.

With Davis accounting for 28 yards on five carries, Houston moved 76 yards in 10 plays to match the total first downs (five) the Broncos allowed their first three games. Tony Hollings capped the drive with a 27-yard touchdown on a pitch left, breaking two tackles near the line and cutting back to elude John Lynch around the 10-yard line.

The Texans did it again early in the second quarter, with Corey Bradford and Derick Armstrong beating Kelly Herndon the final two plays to cap the 76-yard drive. A diving Bradford pulled down a 47-yarder behind Herndon, then Armstrong reached back on a ball to the outside and fought past Herndon for a 15-yard touchdown.

Denver's defense wasn't sharp, but at least the offense mustered a little momentum.

The first-teamers moved 68 yards in 12 plays on the Broncos' second drive, scoring their first touchdown of the preseason on Griffin's 6-yard run early in the second quarter.

Denver kept it going on its next drive, with Plummer faking a handoff and scoring from a yard out on a bootleg to cap the 85-yard drive. Holder Micah Knorr botched the snap on the extra point, giving Houston a 14-13 halftime lead.

And the offense didn't slow down after that.

Danny Kanell threw a pair of touchdown passes in the second half, hitting Mike Anderson on an 11-yarder in the third quarter and Luke over the top in the fourth. Jason Elam also hit field goals of 44 and 23 yards in the fourth quarter.

    Notes

The game-time temperature of 54 degrees was the coldest ever for a Broncos home preseason game. ... The Texans played without defensive tackle Gary Walker (groin) and nose tackle Seth Payne (knee), and receiver Andre Johnson didn't make the trip because of a death in the family.

Trevor Pryce had some nice things to say about Houston during the 4th quarter. He was talking about how Houston is "definately a team with a mission" and really came out harder than people thought. Said they'll catch some teams off guard this season if they keep playing like that.

I'm not so sure that he shouldn't be the #3 or possibly even the #2. He has been nails this preseason and it looks like he is coming into his own.

I thought the Texans played really well despite not having Andre Johnson and especially considering that Walker, Payne, Babin, and Peek did not play. Dunta was picked on, but without our pass rush, which is a defensive backs best friend, any number of corners would have been struggling. Nevertheless, it was a good test for Dunta.
