The gun control argument doesn't need a queue. Any lunatic can go into Academy, buy a gun, and murder all of MojoMan's friends and family. You're just too entrenched on stupid to support common sense changes that can reduce that possibility.
NY Times (in a piece full of typos that says the clinic draws daily protests of up to 200 people): Security concerns at the clinic were high enough that the clinic had a “security room” with a supply of bulletproof vests, but, according to an officer on the scanner, some of the vests are still in the room, and one may have been worn by the gunman.

You call it being a sociopath, I call it being unemotional and grounding opinions in logic. What "common sense changes" would prevent someone that wanted to hurt people from being able to do so?
Watching CNN now, which has included a press conference with the senior police officer on the scene. The shooting took place at the Planned Parenthood and the shooter is currently inside with an unconfirmed number of persons (both PP employees/patients and police). Police have been exchanging gunfire with the shooter. 9 confirmed civilians and 4 confirmed police have been transported to hospitals. There is the possibility of IEDs on the scene but not confirmed. As for the bank, the officer reported that some victims ran toward the bank in order to escape the shooter, who shot at them. So the facts available do not support the contention that the shooting involved the bank.
Nobody jump to any conclusions just yet. First we need to know the race of the shooter before we can determine if this is terrorism or not.

Actually police have revised their statement. The gunman did all the shooting; police did not fire back because hostages are thought to be involved. Also, the gunman was probably firing with a scope on people fleeing to the bank. Whoever this guy is, he seems to be well trained, armed to the teeth and may be capable of blowing up the entire PP building.
Why is that? Police are not in contact with the shooter at all. They have no means of identification.

In other instances they ID the shooter pretty quickly. Either way, I expect that information to come out pretty soon.
