With all the trade deadline posturing, the one guy on our roster that Stone would be derelict not to trade at the deadline is Tate. I love his heart and versatility, but we just have too many wings, and with Cam and Amen’s emergence and Tari coming back, we just don’t have the minutes. It’s time to cash in on whatever Tate’s value is. So, what do folks think Tate’s value is in terms of draft picks?
Very late first, like #26-30. Those picks have only slight marginal value over a 2nd rounder, and it's hard to find an actual rotation player that late. I could see Boston sending us their pick if they want him badly enough, for example.
Not much unfortunately unless he's in a package deal. He's got a team friendly deal but that's only valuable to a contender
I’m not seeing a need to trade Tate for a future 2nd if the team is trying to make the playin. It would be better to keep him for depth and he can be part of a bigger trade in the offseason or next year.
I’d rather trade him for a player at a position of need or as part of a package. But if we can’t find the right player in return, I’d be fine taking two 2nds or a late 1st and building back up our coffers.
Well personally I think that’s fair value, but Ime is reportedly a big fan of Tate’s defense and effort and the team is essentially tied for the last playin spot. I’m skeptical he gets traded for mediocre picks alone.
Tate has value. He's underappreciated on here. Having said that, I really don't think they are going to trade him. The rumored proposals I've heard from Phoenix and Boston aren't that appealing. I'd rather have Tate.
Isn't it better to be underappreciated and staying with a team than be appreciated but traded from team to team in a short time span? From the Player's point of view.....
I want to see Tate vs Anthony Mason vs Chuck Hayes... What was that 3-man game where it was basically 1 on 2, and you shot FTs if fouled to put somebody out...and [damn can't remember]
