Looks bland. I'm glad they're adding things to the ballpark experience and such, so I'm not hating on this move -- but I was never a Tal's Hill hater. Loved the hill. Loved the flagpole. Loved the nod to ballpark history, and loved that there was something unique about H-town's park.

I really wish they would redesign the Crawford Boxes by increasing the height and extending all the way to the Conoco Pump. At that point it would be a true rip-off of Fenway but at least it would play more even and look WAY better. I hate seeing the yellow zig zig homerun line. Raise the fence in right while you're at it. I've noticed that it's too low and makes homerun saving catches awkward as hell.

Why would it play more even? Right now, the current LCF gap is higher and deeper than what the crawford box (even in an extended version) provides).

And a raised wall would block the aesthetic arches... and would not look "way" better.

I actually like the fact that you can stand at the pump or archways and watch a game while standing/walking... rather being fixed to a confined seat.

Sure... and some are just terrible.

But in the case of the park playing "more even", extending the crawford boxes would not create that effect.... and that's not an opinion.

Well... that was certainly an interesting exchange.... expected a tad bit more discussion, but I suppose the tuck and run is in play.

Sounds like a snowflake in search of a safe space.

Well, given that MMP played as the most extreme pitcher's park in baseball for runs last season (yeah, I was shocked when I read that)...extending the Crawfords would make it play more even, just not in the way he meant it.

Yeah... ever since they properly raised the LCF HR line after the disaster 2000 season, MMP has skewed more towards a pitchers park (and in some years, an extreme pitchers park).

I hope the CF dimension reduction won't change that too much... but there's also not much differnet (dimension wise) between MMP and Camden now (and the latter has always been a hitters park).

They moved the fences in at Disch-Falk and it plays really well so far this year.

It looks good so far. The mural in home run alley came out nice too.

I don't think the original renderings had flagpoles... so I'm glad they got those put back in.
