'Stros have to win 27 to 30 games while the Cubs and Giants must win only 21 to 23 games to win the 'card. That's .750 ball for the 'Stros to under .600 for the other two. I would like to see a strong finish but only a crash by all the teams in front or winning 30 out of 36 would do it for us. We play the Reds. Brews and Buccs alot so we have a shot but the games against Cards and Giants will probably make or break. If this recent streak is not a tease then maybe...................nahhhhh! The countdown is 9. 8 to 9 losses and we are toast.
i hate looking at it in the aggregate. you look at it one game at a time....one series at a time. no athlete looks at the a 30 game period and says, "well...if we win 24, we should be ok...but if we win 21, we're screwed." here's the real deal...if they sweep they cubs in this 4 game series...they'll make real progress!
You are correct, but the Astros do have 4 against the Cubs and 3 against SF. They HAVE to go at least 3-1 this weekend. Anything less and they are (for all practical purposes) eliminated.
