If you were Rudy, what do you tell each player to work on this summer? ------------------ humble, but hungry.

Francis- Defense. Mobley- Passing Anderson- Finding a different address Taylor- See Anderson Cato- Find his heart Dream- Nothing really Thomas- See Taylor Williams- See Thomas Langhi- See Williams Collier- No Comment Rogers- Bulk up a little Moochie- Outside shot Bullard- (Retire) ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
I'd tell Francis to convince Webber to come to Houston. After Francis got Webber to sign, I'd trade Francis, Walt and whomever the #13 turns out to be to LAL for Kobe. I'd then sign Marc Jackson and bring back Dream w/ as much money as possible. I'd get Cato to enter the witness protection program b/c he saw himself steal $42,000,000 from the Rockets. Furthermore I'd convince Les to promise Dream part of the franchise for coming back for two years. If Les wasn't as kind hearted and respectful as me, I'd get 6 pigs and make Les watch Snatch. This in turn would give me: Dream/Jackson Webber/K. Thomas Kobe/?/Langhi Mobley/Kobe Norris/Colson and those guys don't have to work on anything. ------------------ I'm sorry, but it's vital to the health of the U.S. economy that we destroy the entire Earth - Chris Stratton, Delivery Driver, on Global Warming. Kobe on the Rockets? What is this, "National Vomiting Awareness Day"? ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
Kobe,Cat,Wink on the same team would be illegal. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Not if Francis was traded for Kobe. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
Kobe sucks. I would be forced to become a Laker fan. Yes, players before team. ------------------ Poopy! And, yes, I have a boyfriend.
Trade Steve for Kobe. Yeah buddy and I'd trade my hair for a hat. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Wakko67 (edited April 05, 2001).]
Francis - defense Mobley - defense Thomas - 3pt shot Williams - Real GM Cato - See above Anderson - Budgeting Langhi - meatball subs Bullard - tanning beds Collier - life outside of the NBA Hakeem - raising his kids with a healthy father Moochie: shooting consistently Carlos: see above Taylor: rebounding BTW, Lil Francis: why the heck should Bullard retire? he's a pretty valuable player ------------------ I would believe only in a God who could dance. - Friedrich Nietzsche
Francis - Defense Cat - Defense Cato - Foul prone-ness Shandon - take as many shots a day as possible Taylor - (Rebounding)/Webber - lose 8-10lbs Hakeem - work up stamina as much as possible Moochie - outside shot KT - finsihing, and 3-pointers Collier - lose 15lbs Langhi - put on 12-15lbs of bulk Walt - speed (if possible) Colson - undetermined Los - he's gone (FA) Bull - ride his chances with pro singing (lol) EVERYONE should work a little on D, EVERYONE should improve their stamina to help us become a better fast break team....those 2 are essential to all....which means, Francis, Cat, and dream won't have such a hard time.....But I think Webber would have a hard time in our system if he didn't lose a couple of lbs... ------------------
Francis needs an easier to execute go to move; his cross-over is not it (hell it isn't better than Moochie's for christsakes), nor is that stop his dribble...spin around his opponent with his back to him...and then try a long step to the basket. Both are too slow. Mobley needs to learn more complicated moves, like seeing the court better and telling his summer teammates to expect passes off his drives...and they better be in position. Mobley needs to improve his midrange, too. He needs to keep the defense honest, better. In short, Mobley needs Francis's stop n pop and turnaround J, and Francis needs Mobley's go-to move. If I were Rudy, I would tell Mobley to NOT shoot an off balanced jumper for the entire summer....don't even practice them. He will then have to learn to get a balanced shot off without being blocked. I would tell Mobley if he can improve his midrange game and reading the court better, he will be an all-star, no doubt. Oh, and no ISO's for Mobley the entire summer, especially if the zone gets implemented. I would tell both to not play one-on-one the whole summer. But what we really need is a starting point guard to run the fastbreak like Moochie does. If I were Rudy, I would order Francis NOT to run down the wing on fastbreaks for the entire summer. I'm willing to bet that he learned this shooting guard mentality playing in the summer, so he could impress the viewers with high-flying slams. If Francis wants to be the point guard, HE MUST lead the fastbreak. By not running down the wing for an entire summer, hopefully he will learn that if he wants to get involved in the fastbreak he must learn to get the outlet and take it down the middle. Francis needs to improve his fastbreak dribbling. Oh, and they both need to quit whining about calls. [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited April 05, 2001).]
