I agree. He is forcing the Knicks' hand. Once he gets his buy out and signs with a contender his knee problem will disappear.

I doubt it but the notion isn't far fetched. I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this.

It's going to be up to Stevie as to whether he stays in NY. No NBA team is going to trade for him and I don't think the Knicks are going to buy him out for 90 cents on the dollar like he wants. If he wants to play elsewhere, he takes a buyout of 65 cents on the dollar and hopes he can sign with another team for the MLE.

Now the question is would the Rox sign Franchise for the MLE. We don't have the roster to win it all this year and next year we will be looking for another piece for that NBA finals run, is Franchise that guy?

How was he trying to prove a point all season? He did everything that was asked of him and completely sacrificed his game. He rarely isolated or went one on one and began deferring to Yao. His problem was that aside from the isolation, there's not much else he's good at on the basketball court, so he looked terrible out there. He's also an atrocious decision maker and an even worse passer but that doesn't mean he wasn't willing to give the ball up. He was anything but selfish.

In the playoffs, he put up gaudy statistics because Yao was rendered completely ineffective by Shaq, so Steve went back to the ISO game and was able to abuse the weak Lakers backcourt. It had nothing to do with not listening to/listening to Van Gundy.

What is the last day that he can be picked up by us after being cut by NY? Is it even possible for him to be on another team's playoff roster for this year?

Trade Juwan, Luther, and Novak plus a couple #1s for Rashard. Then sign Franchise to the MLE. And re-sign Hayes to the biannual exception.

    Rafer
    McGrady
    Battier
    Yao
    Rashard

    with a bench of

    VSpan
    Franchise
    Snyder
    Deke
    Hayes
draft pick (post up 4 or 5)
    JLIII
    Big Jake?
    Min salary vet

He has to be cut and a deal done for his buyout by this Thursday in order to be on another team's playoff roster.

According to this article about half way down the notes

    "Still time to move
The next big player day is Thursday's waiver deadline, when players must be waived to be on playoff rosters. Steve Francis, Jamaal Magloire, Flip Murray and Chucky Atkins are some who have been talked about being bought out."

    That doesn't seem so likely.

Correct. If Steve has a injury and can't be effective it's not going to be useful to pick him up anyway in the event of him being bought out.

Stick a fork in Francis. His career is done. He has a perfect storm of:

    1. Bad Contract
    2. Chronic Injuries
    3. Bad Attitude
    4. Poor Play

At this point, he's no more valuable than Flip Murray. This isn't the Francis of 2000.

He stopped playing like JVG and took over the games himself... Especially cz yao would get tired after the 1st quarter.

I wasn't even a member here during Wade's rookie season but that is exactly what I called him. *hangs head in shame*
