I think that's enough. All of these people are biracial. I could have included famous people who have more ethnicities mixed into their makeup, but chose not to. All of these people are half Black and half White. I have never heard one of them, not one of them, referred to as "The half-Black actress Halle Berry." "The half-Black basketball player, Tony Parker." "The half-Black singer/musician Lenny Kravitz." "The half-Black reporter and news anchor Soledad O'Brian." "The half-Black baseball player, Derek Jeter." "The half-Black singer, Alicia Keys." "The late half-Black singer Bob Marley."

Not once have I heard these people referred to as "half-Black." I've heard them referrred to as biracial, or Black, but never, ever referred to as "half-Black." You are the person using that term to refer to the President of the United States, for reasons perfectly obvious. To pretend that calling someone "half-Black" is either acceptable or common is an insult to everyone on this board. It is an insult to all those people I listed. Why? Because you are deliberately using it to demean and belittle the President, and you are deliberately using it in a racist way. No one else does it. That makes you either racist or so stupid that to pretend that you went to Rice University is a joke. I believe you went to Rice, so that leaves only racist to describe what you are consistently doing here.

Maybe you should consider growing up, or therapy. With all due respect.

 

Unfortunately I didn't see Texx employ the term half-black in this specific argument. It could also be worth researching which and how many of these individuals publicly identify as either black or bi-racial. There's obvious subtext in middle-aged white men of varying degrees of class and intellectual pedigree attempting to dissociate Obama's blackness with his rhetorical eloquence, Ivy league graduate education and professional accomplishments; but save for the presenter, the thesis is actually fairly innocuous and apt to be restated and adopted by society as a whole going forward.
