Well I’m probably a little tired. But I just googled “Star Wars 9 release date” because I forget that it had already came out and I watched it. Great job there jj abrams.

We were gonna gonna have trouble with Rey.

    I'm glad you checked yourself.

Those other 2 seemed very forced.

Ya it's a tough one to like.

Very disjointed film trying to negate decisions made in TLJ which I personally thought was the best film of the sequels.

At least they made up for the sh**show with Mandalorian and some of the spin-offs.

But yea, the new trilogy was absolutely ruined by a lack of direction and plot cohesiveness. No idea how Disney could half-ass the revival of an iconic franchise this hard.

Yeah this. I mean Disney is so successful. They had to know that this could potentially make them a lot of money. So why not have a clear direction in your trilogy.

disney was too focused on the avengers apparently. also the pandering to the alphabets unnecessarily and the forced spice girls girl power really did them in.

    It is offensively bad.

To be fair though, Attack of the Clones might be worse. I watched that a couple weeks ago and was amazed at how bad it was. Somehow I didn't pick up on its total shittiness back when it came out. It is much, much worse than Phantom Menace, which also wasn't great.

Agree that episode 1&2 were brutal as well, but at least didn't butcher the canon of decades of set-up character development or lore.

That's true. Episode 9 turned the Skywalker Saga into the Palpatine Saga and obliterated any potential good angles or stories from the sequel trilogy.

Attack of the Clones was really bad because nothing much happens, it is useless, and the dialogue is painful to hear, but at least it didn't invalidate every film that preceded it.

My boys and I watched the prequels. They were as bad as I remember. Good God.
The Disney Star Wars films, save the last one, are superior to all but one of the Lucas films, IMO.

Yep, I have no desire to watch any of the prequel/sequel movies ever again.

Rogue One, on the other hand, is totally rewatchable
