Our defense is 4th in the NBA opposing FGP over the last 7 games. How do you explain that? I can help you out. The NEW players are learning the system and no longer missing switches as often. A proper rotation is forming. This squad has to have some sort of chance to perform with relatively few mistakes in the system for US to be able to really evaluate them. We are starting to see what the team will be like.
There's still hope that by February, Butler has alienated himself (again) so much that Philly is prepared to trade him to Houston for 4 2nd Rounders.
Return of Jeff B. Removal of Melo. Health so rotation consistency. Small sample size... with... Small list of opposition. That said, it is nice. The teams they played are ranked in OFFRTG per NBA.com as Nets (9th), Pacers x2 (12th), Spurs (13th), Thunder (18th), Bulls (27th)... if your stat includes Blazers (4th).
Plus we need to move MCW and chriss. Those are 2 spots that can be replaced by at least players that can play in our system. Even rookies or whatever would be better than MCW and chriss. Then we have to see how knight fits. If not he would be a possible trade piece. Maybe him and chriss together with MCW. We also need a backup for Capela. Hartestein is not ready. Wish we could have gotten Tyson. But we do need a backup center. Then we need 1 or 2 shooters for the bench. Korver or jr Smith would be nice. But we prob wait for Washington to implode and see what we can get. Once we get some decent help for our bench we will be better. Even if they aren’t played during the playoffs. The bench is important if we want Cp3 to be healthy and if we don’t wanna exhaust harden by playing him extensive minutes. As soon as our bench comes we suffer a lot. Or either MCW, chriss or Hartestein sub in and we lose any kind of lead or they other team goes on a run.
I didn't initially think it was something that would happen. But could Dallas buy out DJ in the spring? Certainly feels like that could happen if the "lockerroom chemistry" gets to be a problem. A Capela/Jordan center rotation would be niiiiiiiiice.
In the scenario if DJ is bought out and is "welcome home" (@Codman) then, yes. How many minutes got played and who ended the game could be up for debate. But the Rockets wouldn't push Capela to the bench for DJ if he came here on a buyout.
