You had it correct in your original post, except you had a space between Bima and Thug.

Out of curiosity, do you know of any tricks that opposing GMs try to pull in order to prevent a deal like this happening? What GMs have a reputation for doing stuff like this? What is Morey's overall reputation (ie, how do other Agents/GMs view him)?

Call BS... Lebron would not pass up the chance to play with the MVP and his best friend this late in his career for a what if chance in LA.... no way no how.

All that LA crap for Lebron is just hoopla... he is either coming here or staying in Cleveland... CyberX..... save that for the birds brother.

    YULE C...

I think Lebron to LA would be a mistake for both sides. It is a risk, just getting three similar players and gutting the rest of the team, Luke is underperforming as a coach and has been given a pass, but if he has those three guys I can see Lebron just losing it on him on the regular. Historically in the modern NBA creating super teams from scratch has been hit or miss. Lebron will be 34 next year so its not like before where you can just insert any all stars next to him and he'd win, he needs a coach with a well implemented system and guys to shoulder the burden offensively as well. It just seems like way too big of a risk for Lebron to risk his legacy. He says he's accomplished everything he needs to, but he needs 2 more rings to solidify his legacy in my opinion as the GOAT. He won't even be in the convo with 3 rings.

Lakers Front office doesn't seem very forward thinking or able to make adjustments YOY, If for some reason it doesn't work the first year do you trade PG after he spent years trying to come home? Do you trade Kawhi who threw a fit to come home?

Harden doesn' want Lebron here, and Lebron probably isn't coming if we win the championship this year

Ah, @ch44 weighs in! Hometown discount? Tried to slip that by Kawhi eh? The fact that Kawhi turned down the Jumpman shoe deal tells you all you need to know about taking discounts. He will take all of his money. So pay up small marketsize SA.

@cyberx, @heypartner posted you question on Twitter and @BimaThug replied. It is below.

While I'm not 100% sure (and nobody is) of LeBron's intentions, I will say that all this Lakers chatter is actually great for us. If the Cavs are going to engage anybody on a trade for LeBron, it's only going to be because him leaving for nothing in free agency is very viable.

@cyberx the lakers can clear nearly $62M in cap space by renouncing their rights and cap holds to the following players: lopez, pope, randle, thomas, frye, wear, ennis. this means a S&T for randle with BI for leonard is overly complicated if not impossible.

however, with the $62M in cap space they can fit lebron and PG's max.

the problem is trading for kawhi. they would only have the following players on the roster: ball, ingram, kuzma, hart, zubac, bryant, and the immovable deng. now assume they want to hold onto ball, they don't have enough salary to match kawhi's in trade. they would either have to include ball, or find a 3 team trade where they dump deng.

it would take 2 first round picks for anyone to take on deng's deal. LA has no leverage because that third team holds the key to getting kawhi in LA... and those picks are worth crap since LA will be a top team each year. but that means no picks left for the spurs. the whole thing seems unlikely to workout. unless...

the answer is to extend, waive, and stretch deng LA would be allowed to pay out his contract over twice the length of the remaining deal, plus one season. LA can give him a 4 year extension at the minimum, then stretch his payments over 13 years! this would allow his cap hit to be only $3.5M, clearing up $13.5M in cap space (rough numbers obvi). use the cap space and cash to acquire a sizable expiring useless contract near but not over $10M (al jeff, bayless, aldrich, temple), and flip that contract with ingram, kuzma, hart, zubac, (and picks) to match kawhi's salary in trade (like the rockets did with all of those NG players to get paul). the remaining $3.5M+ cap space would be needed to remain reserved for 7 remaining empty roster spots at minimum contracts.

roster would be: ball, george, kawhi, lebron, bryant... and no money for anything more than minimum deals for the remainder of the roster. no picks for the foreseeable future. oh yeah, and you'd be paying deng for the next 13 years. i think i'd rather have ingram, kuzma, hart, zubac, picks, and not pay deng for the duration of ball's career. stick with using cap space on PG and lebron the kawhi part isn't worth it.

Except you would win the next two championships with that roster just because of those 3.

Ball, Ingram, Deng plus picks for Kawhi is a fair trade. No need to stretch Deng.

LA will trade Ball before Kuzma, as Ball takes too much cap space compared to Kuz, and he is a worse fit next to Lebron.

LA will then throw the 4-year MLE to Reddick , and sign a vet min starting C. Kuz, Hart, Zubac plus other vet min guys will fill their bench. Frye, Young, Noel, Felton, Jack, Nelson, Beasley, Reed, Casspi could all be available at vet min.

Johnson and Pelinka know what they are doing. Don't underestimate them. This has been the plan all along.

    Three way trade.

    Spurs send Kawhi to Rockets.
    Lakers send Ingram to Spurs.
Rockets send Joe Johnson to Lakers.

    Win win for everyone.

I don't think they can give him an extension for the number of years that you suggested and you are too low on the minimum salary for the unfilled/open roster spots.

LeBron free agency will be likely to go down in August, very complicated.

    Key facfors:
Rockets have at least $25 million salary cap space ( I said this a few times)
Cavs have zero chance to offer no-trade clause

25 million cap space is the only way to force a trade, nothing else.

I would do that. Kawhi when healthy is the best two way player in the league. Having PG and Kawhi would give you an elite defensive team. Lebron and even 4 scrubs can give you a good offense. If the Lakers can get LBJ, Leonard, PG13 you have to do it as long as the doctors make sure leonard isn't IT hurt.
