Let’s revisit this trade in 2 years after kyrie retires because he doesn’t like basketball anymore, Durant gets tired of the Brooklyn organization, and James is ready to come back home. The rockets will end up with MULTIPLE top 5 picks from this trade. This trade was about the long term future. Short term- absolutely benefits the Nets. Long term- Rockets will have the last laugh
The biggest losers of this trade are the teams who didn't trade for Harden, paving the way for the Nets to become stronger. Rockets now have flexibility with their roster with more moves on the horizon. I don't like seeing all the "Rockets got fleeced" takes because this trade can't be judged at the moment. I'm embracing the rebuild with full confidence in Stone.
I agree completely. This is a 2-3 year window. Before this team becomes worse than the Rockets currently.
We did just fine with the trade. Nothing anyone was going to give us was going to be truly worth James Harden in the deal. Simmons... heck no Tyler hero... don't know..but probably not Those picks will definitely be worth something sooner than later. We're doing things the right way instead of putting ourselves in mediocrity. Especially if KPJ turns out to be as good as we think he is and fits with Wood.
