Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for their Marvel Comics film adaptation and “Spider-Man” spin-off “Madame Web” ahead of the film’s launch in February next year. Dakota Johnson stars in the lead role in the film which marks a part of Sony Pictures’ Marvel Universe of Characters (SPUMC) alongside “Venom” and “Mobius”. The project is subbed a “standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines”. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures…if they can all survive a deadly present. Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet also star in the S. J. Clarkson-directed feature. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless penned the screenplay for the film which is getting a theatrical release on February 16th 2024. It marks the first of three Sony-Marvel films opening next year with “Kraven the Hunter” coming in August and “Venom 3” towards year’s end. https://www.darkhorizons.com/first-trailer-sony-marvels-madame-web/
Wasn't that the whole movie "thriller" condensed into trailer time? I'm in for the witty writing and epic acting!
Why is Sony doing this ****? Aside from Peter Parker/Miles Morales, Venom is really the only standalone marketable character for cinema in the Spidey stable. It's so dumb. If they want to spin these characters off they need to anchor them in movies with one of these characters. Bleh https://comicvine.gamespot.com/prof...e-of-marvel-characters-sumc-heroesanti/86748/
Dakota much better than Don Johnson.....haha keed. Spiderman was not even cool to film but one of the best video games personally speaking.
Nah, it's not a fad, it's a genre with millions of baked-in fans. The presentation will evolve, but it's here to stay. I personally think the market is ready for a grittier, more realistic and violent turn ala The Dark Knight movies.
