I hope he wins, but losing those 2 games killed his chances.

We go 1-1.... Harden has a nice chance

    2-0..... Harden probably wins

The fact we lost the 2nd seed really hurts.... its almost unprecedented for an MVP to go to a lower seeded team. And the fact Harden played poorly both games leaves him no chance.

    I'll gladly eat crow.

Why are we pretending like San Antonio didn't destroy the Warriors too? They didn't resort to hacking to get the ball out of Curry's hands either.

It's not about us pretending like that didn't happen, it's about the media pretending it didn't happen.

Not to start a debate/war but Harden's chances didn't evaporate because the Rockets lost to the Spurs. It went away because they didn't lock up the 2nd seed. Before anyone asks me what's the difference just know that if they would have taken care of business against Utah, Toronto, or Phoenix (any combination of those two) the Rockets wouldn't be in this playoff seeding predicament.

If voters are going to give Curry the MVP SOLELY on the Rockets' two losses against San Antonio then they really don't know jack **** about basketball as it was the same media darlings that lost to the Spurs by 15 with a more complete and better team than what the Rockets have.

Kevin Ding had Harden 4th on his ballot. Get your pitchforks CF, head to twitter and search for Kevin Ding's head.

Really doesn't matter. That is, quite obviously, an idiotic and biased ballot that nobody else will coincide with. Nothing more than an outlier.

    Exactly.

The media/public d-ride is full trottle on Curry.

ESPN's main article today was about Steph shooting 3's. ..... during practice.

That ballot should count as job abandonment for him.

Perfectly said, and with that said, Curry wins in a landslide IMO. This is sadly a total popularity contest, period.

I was just about to post this. This moron had Chris Paul on his list.

Is he actually a voter or this is just his opinion?

the fact that SA resorted to that because they have no answer for Harden actually makes for a pretty solid argument for Harden winning the MVP

You have a problem with a voting system when people are deliberately trying to game the system, it would be like people voting Curry 5th just to lower the points he receives. It's one thing to have a choose the guy you like, it's a complete other to try and sabotage another candidate

And THAT is why the media should NEVER be voting for league awards. It should be former players, coaches, and team executives because "game recognize game". These "beat writers", journalists, and TV personalities who were not in the NBA should never be voting for this exact reason as forchette49 posted. A popularity contest should not undermine the effort these players have given all season. If the award was given based on most peoples' interpretation of "valuable" meaning where the team would be without that MVP candidate, Harden would have had this ON LOCK months ago. Thankfully the media doesn't vote for who will be NBA Champions.
