Forgot you were here during the Houston All-Star game. It somewhat is. But they need to find a bigger office, first...we are growing too fast. Headed to Germany for 2 weeks (next week) then Boston for a week after. Should know more by then. But in the end, I might just do a temporary 6 month stay in Boston (corporate housing type deal), to get a new product off the ground, then return to Boulder (or go permanent to Germany). So long term is still unknown...that's why I'll be keeping my place in Boulder for awhile. would definitely meet you in Houston for sure. Maybe more than one city. haha
Smeg, if you make it to San Francisco, (1) most 4-yr-olds I know LOVE the Exploratorium http://www.exploratorium.edu/ hell, most 40-yr-olds I know love it. (2) drop me a line. We will definitely be around, if your schedule stick to that window.
Be a real pleasure to meet up again Smeggy.. I dont get out too much these days, but no way in hell would I miss this.
Yes, my dad's Aunt Myrtle (yes really) had been going up there for years with teaching colleagues. They were attracted by the cool summers and the concerts and lecture series. We partook of those, too. When I got married in May of 1978, my wife and I drove cross-country to Idaho from NC. We stopped in at Morning Glory to spend a night or two with Myrtle. She made us "hash" for dinner. We hiked up into the Flatirons and went to a concert at Red Rocks. Wish we hadn't sold the place but when my parent's health started failing and we three brothers all had growing families, it was too difficult to get there with any regularity. We rented it for awhile but in the end sold the property. Breakfast on the porch of the Inn, overlooking Boulder, was a treat.
Has it been that long? Damn! And thanks for the reminder must mean wedding anniversary coming up soon, as that was part of my honeymoon, which could mean the 2012 World tour could be the 10th anniversary of the first one
It's a beautiful place. Let me know if you are coming East (NC). Might be able to get some Panther tickets from some apathetic season ticket holders.. Also have two daughters (9 and 11) who are eager baby-sitters...
we about about to book our flights into and out of LA, will arrive on 25th of Jan and depart 3rd of March, in between is flexible but looking like Orlando, NE (DC, Bos, Nigara, NY), Boulder, Htown and then LA, SD and SF via Yosemite Smeg
We'd be happy to host you overnight on your way north. We are in the Greensboro, NC area which is but an hour or so from Raleigh/Durham and an hour and a half from Charlotte.
anyone have some DisneyWorld hotel suggestions, at this stage thinking out of the park with car hire?
Absolutely. Do not stay in the park unless you want overpriced and nonstop crappy food (to be fair, 90% of Orlando is crappy food). We liked Floridays Resort. Huge rooms, nice, and not too far from anything. We were able to get a 2 bedroom condo (2 bathrooms, kitchen, living, etc) for $120/night. I hated Orlando so try not to be like me since you are going.
