Les and Morey are gonna be run out of Houston if Dwight opts out in 2 years and goes to another team.

They should have just matched Parsons and built out the bench.

    BAD DECISION

Fans who was down for swinging for the Fences and Now you asking for Morey's head cant have it both ways.. it Bosh had signed here.. It's Morey the Legend.. Just be Happy we have a GM who really cares about getting better now and the future.. Mark Cuban disband his team after winning it all.. We don't need crumbs we need Bricks! so let's stay flexible.. look at the Spurs.. let's find some flexible pieces to stay in contention besides over paying Parsons to save FACE!!

It seems like a crappy gamble. Our team which showed improvement and was on the up couldn't land free agents like Bosh, and Melo.

Now that the team will be worse than it was last year and will be going down instead of up, they expect to be able to land the big name FA's next off season. It seems like a stupid gamble to make especially after what happened this off season.

    You are 100% correct.

    Parsons isn't a max player.

You still got Harden and Howard at minimum two more years with a chance to add a third the next two years.

We swapped Asik, Lin, or 1st rounder, and Parsons for late lotto next year, Ariza, and cap space. Am I looking at this wrong because this sounds terrible?

Honestly... as is, with the Loss of Parsons, Asik, and yes..... Lin, the Rockets might very well MISS THE PLAYOFFS next year.

Lets hope Morey put good protection on that Lin pick.

Dwight might not be around by then. Like K.Love he can tell the Rockets he won't re-sign, trade him if they want to get something out of it

No, there isn't. Not if you're watching with the hope that this team contends for anything. McHale was retained as head coach. We have yet to replace Sampson and got rid of another assistant in the meantime. We gave up Asik. We gave up Lin. We whiffed on Melo and Bosh. And now we let Parsons sign with a division rival who only won 5 fewer games than us last year and have replaced him with Trevor Ariza who while a decent player cannot replace what Parsons gave us.

Granted this offseason isn't over yet, but I'd say at the moment it's been an unmitigated disaster. At least if the Rockets were coming off a decent playoff run, we could feel ok about 2014-15. But they lost in the first round again to an inferior opponent despite having home court advantage. And BTW, that team that beat us has gotten better this offseason. As have the Mavs. And the Clippers. And the Pelicans(thanks to us).

Honestly, why bother? Watch a few games, but don't invest any emotion or energy into this team. Not until they abandon this superstar roulette game they play every season and focus instead on actually building a contender piece by piece.

I hope the fans aren't really getting hyped about Durant in 2016. That will not happen. He'll either be in OKC or DC. That's it. No place else for him.

Very sad day for Rockets fans. They are not even trying to win a championship.

Maybe I'm just overreacting in the moment, but I'm now convinced the Rockets will never win a championship with Morey as the GM. His obsession with building a big three will be the death of this team. He has no concept of letting something grow. Houston had somewhat legitimate goals of winning a championship last year. They secured a top 4 seed in the brutal west. They lost a heart breaker series against Portland that a call here, a play there, the Rockets advance. All of that to blow up the team this offseason in an attempt to land the next "star". It didn't matter that Carmelo was never a good fit for this team. Didn't matter that Bosh had indicated his heart was in Miami. Didn't matter than pretty much everyone on earth said the Rockets had no chance at Lebron. They're "stars". Heartbroken at the current state of the Rockets. I literally have not missed a game in two years, but after this debacle I'm may be cancelling my league pass. :(
