No. But I have no idea why you would care either way. Rice will be on top soon enough...

Austin looks like a boom or bust type hire, we needed a sure thing, big splash hire.

Gerry Hamilton is also confirming this.

Mack has made some very good DC hires in the past (Robinson, Chizik, Muschamp) so I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt but this is a very underwhelming hire IMO.

Also, rumors about David Shaw from Stanford are starting to pick up.

I would almost want Greg Davis back before Norm Chow. He is the exact opposite direction of what this team needs, especially if we did in fact hire Teryl Austin.

Yeah I'm not sure Norm is/would be the answer.

You seem to know more about all this than me, what happened with Hairsin or is he still among the guys in the mix?

I only know what I read on other Longhorn message boards I frequent.

It would appear that Harsin would be out based on the official job posting for Offensive Coordinator that came out today.

    http://utdirect.utexas.edu/pnjobs/pnjobsvw.WBX?job_nbr=10-12-14-01-0807

In it, one of the preferred qualification is NFL experience (which Harsin has none), and this is where a lot of the Chow talk came about. The DC posting pretty much was exactly written for Teryl Austin, so it appears Mack may find his coaches then issue the job posting based on them (common practice.)

If that is the case, then I believe David Shaw, Chryst from Wisconsin, and McElwain from 'Bama are the big names that still qualify. And Chow, ugh.

Shaw (Stanford), Chryst (Wisconsin), and Petrino (Illinois) are potentials floating around. Chow is likely a smokescreen.

Apparently Walker was in Austin taking a tour of the facilities.

Yep. Apparently Austin wasn't passing the test with some Donors and Groups. Dewayne Walker might just be leading the pack now.

    my oh my....hearing some things....

things are about to get verrrry interesting

let's just say UT-Austin branch's athletics has been having yet another brush with the law. The sleaze of an athletics program continues

    this time involving prostitutes....

    lots of lawyers swarming

    details to unfold soon

By "hearing some things", bigtexxx actually means he fills his voracious appetite for all things UT via various blogs, such as this one.

The University of Texas at Austin dominates bigtexxx's thoughts and controls his emotions.

Any thoughts on this matter, NIKEstrad? Are they as sleazy as what I'm hearing?

Hey, at least Mack isn't driving drunk like your baseball coach

Sad, sad little mad liltexxx is. Just embarrassing to even read his trolling anymore. It used to be humorous, now it's just blatant and dead bait driven.

Why have I thought or did I think Texas was going to name a DC soon? I guess they were going through the process before trying to find a guy. First Shannon, then Austin, then Walker, now
