There is absolutely no information on the shooter or his views and intentions. I hope Rep. Scalise recovers quickly. I don't care what party he or anyone else on that field is from. This was the act of a mad man...someone who is clearly not sane and clearly completely disconnected from reality.
If you post something/new info, please provide a link. These developing situation threads usually end up derailed by someone posting bogus info that starts a flame war.

Apparently a guy walked up asked if it was republican or democrat, was told it was republican walked to other dugout carrying a bag pulled out his weapon and opened fire. Sad. People have a breaking point and the GOP is supporting positions that hurt people, this is concerning to all of us. DD

"Republicans or Democrats"? Not just "a little odd." Very very odd. I stopped and watched a soccer game in the park last week. I never thought it must be either "Republicans or Democrats" out there. P.S. I am in the Northern Virginia area now, and grew up here. So don't say I "don't get" how people in DC play sports in political packs or something. So the shooter basically got lucky and by chance found some Republican congressmen to shoot. . . . Or he was out hunting for political sports games. . . .
They are saying this would have been a complete massacre if not for the security detail that was on site. As horrible as this is, looks like it could have been a LOT worse.
