Ever since the Dodgers put the Astros on blast for cheating.... they won the no-fans in attendance World Series, T.Bauer being an animal and J.Urias being another animal. How fitting they have Freeman, Max and Betts on the Dodgers. At least we have Cristian and Hader on our team.
Ohtani made illegal bets. We do not know how many or over what time period but perhaps even more egregious is the fact he has spent the last couple of weeks lying to his employer and to baseball fans all over the world about this. I find those lies to be the worst part of his behavior. If he where my employee I would fire his ass over that alone. He has breached the morals clause of his contract and proved himself to be untrustworthy.
My maternal grandparents were Irish af and were massive Astros fans and they LOATHED the Dodgers, and they would love this post
I’m not remotely suggesting that’s the case. But in an ACTUAL court of law, the distinction you were minimizing is not a distinction to minimize…it’s the difference between whether what’s been done is criminal or is not criminal.
I have a vary low opinion of Courts of Law when crooked politicians exempt themselves from the laws they make for others. Thousands of Unconstitutional laws exist and selective prosecution/persecution is just evidence of the corruption. Even "legal" betting corrupts the SOUL.
Coming from someone who want to believe Ohtani, one thing that doesn’t add up is the wire transfers from Ohtani account. Wouldn’t whatever bank be held liable/ there be a huge scandal if they just allowed someone to wire 4.5 million of there cash to an illegal bookmaker.
If Ohtani told the truth he is an absolute idiot when it comes to personal finance; if Ohtani told a lie this would be exposed sooner or later with the ongoing investigations (bank wires are probably the most traceable thing in the world) and will make him look very very bad.
So, at best Ohtani is a complete idiot and naïve. Never really believed Ohtani was guilty of the gambling personally, but don't for one second believe he just casually gives another man access to his bank account. At this point they are 100% trying to cover up the fact that Ohtani wired the money.
If he also acted as a personal assistant, he might have access to an account with limited funds, But this does not sound like a reasonable explanation in any way, shape or form.
I’m completely ok with that opinion…there may be eternal consequences for corrupting your soul…I’m suggesting there may be some more imminent consequences for what is alleged.
