Just listen to Jalen rose....both podcast n TV shows. They only guy on TV that knows but the culture of basketball n the x and o of the game.

 

They seem so much more perceptive and interesting when they say things I want to hear.

Shannon Sharpe? The NFL receiver? I wonder what Dale Earnhardt Jr thinks of the Rockets? Or Simone Biles? Maybe Tiger Woods has an opinion too.

 

I like jalen & some of the clips he spoke about the Rockets. He's a fair guy & Nick Wright is another one that tells it like it is.
TBH, i only watch these guys talk from ppl posting about it in the group.

 

Shannon is an idiot, he doesn't even know efficiency in basketball works.

He's been calling Harden an inefficient chucker the entire season, although he admits he's unguardable.

He keeps referencing Harden's mediocre FG% when everyone knows any analyst should be using eFG% instead.

 

I see Skip Bayless has finally watched his first Rockets game of 2019. Shannon’s a bit better but he still thinks Harden is a sieve on defense. And that Chris Paul is good on D. Neither of which is true anymore.

Interesting all the emphasis they put on Harden dropping 35 points "on" Kawhi, and the mention that Kawhi used to be able to slow him down.

If they'd actually watched games, including last night's, they'd probably recall that Kawhi has never been tasked with guarding Harden all game during his Spurs or Raptors career; when Harden doesn't get a pick and roll switch that job has consistently fallen to Danny Green (who was and still is quite decent at it). At most, Leonard switches onto Harden for crunch time.

(For example, Green defended 29 Harden possessions last night to Kawhi's 6 and Lowry's 11.)

 

At least on the Takes of Fire shows... There are other commentators who don't suck outside of those.

 

Harden didn't dribble at the top of the key every possession for 22 seconds. He attacked early and often. That's the style we want to see.

 

That's all by design. That's the downside of your best offensive guy being your best defensive guy. He too important to foul out guarding harden. It's common knowledge you only allow that guy to take that assignment in crunch time
