This is great news! As much as I'd hate to lose him, if he plays well this year, he may be a great trade piece this summer for a forward or center....

    Steal! Merry Xmas to us!

Trade Westbrick and Haren, build around GOAT Clemens. :)

Funny, but at the PG position he is fine - and he can SHOOT the ball - I like Clemons a lot.

When you quote me about Too short, please realize, I am mostly talking about PF and C......

I am surprised he took a 3 year deal though, he is definitely an NBA player - and could be a valuable scorer off the bench.

Imagine it is Clemons out there at the 3pt line instead of Westbrick?

Has he even played in a game lately ? I’ve watched them all and don’t recall him being in too many here of late ... he can certainly shoot better than Russ from deep but hasn’t gotten much opportunity lately as usual. He tried on D but his size makes it hard for him to defend most PGs/bench PGs and SGs that’s the one drawback.

I guess Clemons doesn't like to play dangerous games.

Dan Tony has his blind spots. Sure, Clemons’ defense is weak, but so is, say, Damian Lillard’s. I’m obviously not comparing the two players otherwise, but it would behoove our head coach (I use the title loosely) in this, his fourth and last season, to give some run to players such as Clemons so that our main guys don’t run into a wall.

    Clemons is a decent pickup.

clemons defense is below average, true. but i like that he competes. as another poster here mentioned, a lot of his problems stem from inexperience right now. ie. poor positioning, reaching, etc

This puts the roster back to 15. The Rockets will have to cut Nene or Green to sign a buyout candidate. I was thinking that they would pick up Jeff Green but this move makes that more difficult. Not saying that it wasn’t a good move but more moves might be coming.

Don't worry, they'll trade Nene and maybe other one or two guys to get under the tax at some point.

I know this is kind of a moot point with Gordon coming back, but I'd rather see Clemons out there than McLemore.

Should have done this when some of us said he should have a roster spot coming out of preseason
    (looking at you bum Anderson).

Don’t know what the Rockets gained doing it after his NBA 45 days ran out on his 2-way deal?

Writer on B/R campaigns for Jontay Porter to open 2-way spot. Looks ok to me, I second that motion.

    Bring in another lefty

Having Clemons on a two-way deal paid him 45 days' worth of NBA salary (plus a few days of elevated G-League salary) that did NOT count against the cap or tax.

How much did Ryan Anderson cost the Rockets cap-wise? $500 thousand?

I ask, because I would have given Clemons a modest contract and a Power Forward a 2-way (instead of Ryno) out of preseason. (per discussion with @D-rock)

Guess Rockets needed to see more of Clemons.
