He's a below 30% pull-up shooter for his career and he is very hesitant to take them. He also has a slow release so you can closeout quickly once he picks up his dribble. Why on Earth they are defending him so high up, allowing the quickest guy on the court to just blow by them every single time, is just infuriating.
He's becoming crafty.. He doesn't hesitate... He takes his time because he knows he can get by Harden or Gordon with ease...
Put Bmac on him. Seriously. Early in the game, we could still keep him out, but late in the game, he did whatever he wanted. We didn't have legs. BMac actually did a decent job thus far to keep his man in front of him. The drop off of intensity in keeping Shoreder off the paint is primary due to House I think
Houston needs to ask tucker to defence him. This guy gets too much opportunities to shoot. Dont use Ben to guard him.
Not to mention going for his weak fake every time. We were just not focused enough or underestimating them. What percentage of his layups were to the right? 80%? There was a late possession where Jeff Green closed the right and guy doesn't even have a counter for that. Most of the times his defender does not go for the fake he ends up passing the ball.
He’s definitely not THIS good. We let his confidence get too high. Play him to his left and give him some space. Stop the drive, and you will slow him down. He’s playing how I thought SGA would be though.
wouldnt matter if mclemore is on him CP3 would call for a screen immediately and the Rockets would switch and mclemore would get burned by Paul. There were a few plays yesterday were mclemore was killed by schroeder as well. This rockets team - well the coaches that is have done nothing to make adjustments defensively in the series yet. I get the switching defense but how about not switching randomly to keep the Thunder guessing whats going to happen? I am not saying the thunder have figured out the defense completely but they have found cracks and keep exploiting them especially late when the Rockets have tired legs.
this is the problem for those who don't follow the game outside of the rockets, which is pretty much most around here. he's not below 30%. he's actually been very respectable in the last two years for okc. Prior to that it's up and down. He was also shooting a career high on 5 takes before the season The person who's below 30% is EG right now at a whopping 22%. Is it more ideal for Schroder to take a 3 rather than driving sure. But to act like they should just let him fire those away is terrible defense. You still have to respect that shot. He's no Dort or Wb by any means from the 3
This is the problem with people not reading my post. I am talking about PULL-UP 3s. He has never had a season shooting over 30% on those.
it doesn't matter. at this point okc understands what the defenses are giving up. its a chess match. okc has adjusted obviously. its up to hou to do something about it
