Checked one out yesterday at a convention I'm at. Sweet device, super light. Not sure how Apple is selling iPhones when stuff like this is out.
I have the S3 too...my dilemma is this: Get the Note 3 now...or wait for the S5 to be released (which will surely be a stunner).
I just got a Note II and am very happy with. Amazing that in todays tech world a one year old phone is considered old. I always get comments and jokes on how big it is. It fits well in my pocket with a Otterbox shell case, but I dont wear girl jeans. I think I will find it hard to go back to the smaller screens.
Ill be due for a new phone in like May or June. Will probably look heavily at this phone, if I can find a deal. Although HTC will provably have something new by then, and I'm an HTC guy, for the most part. Like their build quality, and I actually like Sense (I guess I'm in the minority).
I think its a tragedy that the cell phone cycle is so quick. You don't see this type of "keeping up with the Jones's" effect with the PC market or even the tablet market. Of course, I'm always excited to see newer technology. Just sad that its so normal to shell out hundreds of dollars every other year just to get the latest tech craze.
the funnier part is we just get new devices to read about more new devices that are going to be coming. it's a cycle.
The quick cycle is a good thing because it shows how dynamically technology is improving. You have to buy in at some point. But it's been slowing down a bit the last couple of years and that should continue. I'm glad Android was launched as an alternative because if Apple had their way, we'd still be on the iPhone 2 and it would probably cost more than the iPhone 5 does now.
I just pick a new phone every time my contract is up. I get a discount for contract extension and I limit myself from partaking in buying a phone every 6 months like some do.
