This is a bittersweet day for me. The driver I grew up cheering for officially announced his retirement today. For the majority of my life, I have watched pretty much every Winston Cup race. Here's an ESPN article about his retirement. http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/news/story?id=1871131 I knew this day was coming, I just didn't know when. Next year will be an emotional one as it will be the last time I will be able to watch him compete as well as make one last attempt at winning the Daytona 500. Rusty just hasn't been the same since Dale Earnhardt died, and he decided to retire while he was ahead and not risk his health for much longer. By the way, why does ESPN always try to take credit for "breaking" stories? 9 days before August 22, from Jayski.com, a very reliable source for NASCAR news.
