[Rumor] : Suns looking at Trading for Paul Per Source.

I guarantee you that some of the deals signed this offseason will make Chris Paul's deal look like a bargain.

I think even with decline Chris Paul is close to Kemba Walker as far as positive impact on the team.

Kemba Walker max deal options:
5 year $221 mil supermax (would be super crazy)
5 year $190 mil via bird rights (still pretty crazy)
4 year $141 mil in free agency

I think it is debatable whether you would rather have Kemba Walker for 4 years $141 mil or Chris Paul for 3 years $120 mil. I think that each year the advantage will lean more towards Paul. Keep in mind Kemba is probably the 4th or 5th best free agent available meaning a few teams will be lining up hoping to get him for this price. For a team like the Lakers, Knicks, or even the Suns if you don't get Durant, Kawhi, Kyrie, or Klay. What do you do with your cap space?

Try to sign Tobias Harris or Khris Middleton for 140 mil and try to sell them as stars? Spend the minimum and tank? Or trade for Chris Paul and sell hope and tickets while still keeping the tank option alive?

 

Even if this was true, I don't understand why you would make this trade.
