Maybe there could be a fight between the offensive and defensive coordinator like the Oilers had. My money is on Rudy T in that fight.

Would Rudy really come back after being 'released'?

if we could work somethin out.........like the gm should make it clear....tht rudy is offensive coach and jvg is defensive coach....and tht rudy is signin as asst. coach...not head coach....

rudy would comeback for the ppl and rockets.....and think about the rockets and the players.....i would say tht if u took survey in locker room and asked if rudy can come back sas asst. coach and it be 10 out 10.....

Rudy is too good to come back as an assistant coach to any team, and why would he? I mean I know he loves rockets and the city, but he is way to good to play second fiddle. It would also just be too complicated with players already having a relationship with Rudy. The team needs one strong person at the head.

Having said that, I guess the Spurs and the Mavs are doing pretty good witha couple of head coaches running the team

unlike football, basketball is a game in which defense dictates offense and vice versa. I say we get rid of JVG altogether if we don't improve significantly.

Was just thinking if the Knicks fire Chaney, Rudy could sign with the Knicks as a head coach. How friggin weird would that be? The New York Rockets and the Houston Knicks!

Considering Chaney already coached the Rockets, maybe it already is friggin weird.

Unfortunately, the Rockets have already disrespected RT. The "Rocket at Heart" has no reason to show any loyalty to "Judas" Alexander. Besides, JVG isn't going anywhere (unless he walks away) for at least another eighteen months, and there is no such thing as a "co-head-coach."

Rudy T didn't work out either and I'm glad he's gone. You need a coach that won't bow down to Francis and try to coddle him. I thought JVG would be that taskmaster, but I was sadly mistaken. He's more afraid of Francis than Rudy T was. The only diff is he's taking out his frustration on Yao, which is crazy when Francis should be called out way before Yao is.

Yeah, and how exactly would you split time in practice?

Rudy, you get these 5 guys. I'll work with this group. You get your guys to score and I'll get my guys to stop yours.

Francis: But I wanna play on Rudy's team.
    Yao: Me too.
    Mobley: Same here.
    JVG: I'm outa here.

Yeah, that would be REAL smart.

They do it more or less in SA and Dallas... not that I'm advocating the RT thing, obviously that wouldn't work. This staff does seem to be a one man show and his fellow yes men. At least with other staff around the NBA you see some serious talent assisting the main man. (That is not bashing, that is an observation! ;) )

IF the rox did present this it would be a slap in JVG's face as well as Rudy T's because hes much better than an assistant

Yes. To further drive home the point, the offensive sets need to be such that there is always at least one guy capable of getting back on D to muck up a fast break.

That would be a good idea, but it would be way to weird. But to have JVG and RudyT on the same bench, we'd definatly be one of the top 5 in the Western Conference.

This seems highly unlikely. If you're a coach, and especially if you have the talent to be the head coach of an NBA team, you're expected to coach your team through defense AND offense. Although we once had an offensive genius and we are now in the hands of a defensive genius... don't you know that genius's like to argue?

I LIKE the idea, but I doubt it can ever happen.

    Says who?

    Cato and JJ start

They don't fast brake - ask Brake Check's accountants

They usually can't score and waste so much time trying that the other team can't either

...and JVG is a defensive genius for all that (and more) ?
