According to multiple reports, Rodney Hood is available for a deal. I really think the Rockets should look into this but I have no idea what his value is? Possible rental... 6'8 (supposedly), 38% from 3, 42% from the midrange (near the free throw line), Solid defender, can't carry the offense but could be a superstar role player. He is only making 2.4M, so it looks like we need to throw in a draft pick. Gerald Green can't keep up the hot shooting and he is less than stellar on defense. What do you guys think?
Jazz must know something the league doesn't. He's had high expectations entering this season. Can be a very good player in today's game. SIL
Thats fair, but I couldn't post it there because I'm not sure what his value is. 1st Rd Pick? 2nd Rd Pick?
The random trade thread rules: for all random trades except the ones where you don't know if the player in question is worth a 1st or a 2nd round pick. Lol jk breh just bustin balls. I say go for it
Stats for Hood (including height/weight) are of the type of player I’m looking for the Rockets to add. I’m a big believer the Rockets need one more wing player between 6’6” - 6’ 8” that can hit 3’s consistently while getting to the free throw line (mid-range in front of rim). In studying the Warriors, I believe the free throw line mid range area is the “soft underbelly” of the Warriors defense. They excel in blocks per game and guard the 3-point line and rim well. Once enough mid range shots are made near the free throw line......the rim protectors will hedge further away from the rim. Allowing the 6’6” to 6’8” player an avenue to hesitate and take the ball to the rack. Those defenders can recover easier versus the smaller guards under 6’3”. Just a side note: if a player 6’5” can play bigger or a 6’9” player can play smaller; I’m not against. Eric Gordon plays bigger; as does Harden. Hoping RJ Hunter at about 6’5 (6’6ish) can contribute. I’m also hoping Troy Williams can be the man and develop by playoff time. Troy Williams and Gerald Green providing 3-point shooting and more athletic abilities. Tucker for defensive purposes and a few 3’s. Luc and Ariza for defense and few more 3’s.
We'd have to over pay for him and we have people who do what he does but better already. Anyway.. he's Chicago bound for sure..
Hood is not a PF, nor is he a starter on this Rockets team. Ryno is better shooter, rebounder and even shot blocker. Rockets don't need any more swing back ups. That is already a luxury on this team.
We have Gordon and Green, pass. Gordon is locked up for 2 more seasons after this year on a good contract, Green can likely be resigned for the minimum in the offseason again. Hood is skinny, he's bad on defense, he's a SG, will be a FA, will be looking for 10-15 mill deal, our backcourt is packed as is, Gordon is a better player IMO, Green is very similar.
