    Isn't it more than that? I don't follow NFL anymore, so am legit ignorant here.

    If the teams with 1st and 2nd best records in a conference are in the same division, do they both get byes? My understanding is the 2nd best record can actually end up in bye week as a 5th/6th seed??? Having to play an extra game is quite a flaw in the system, for the 2nd best team.

    If so, that is exactly why NBA changed seeding....due to Spurs and Dallas.

    The only thing that matters is winning championships.

    Celebrating division titles, MVP awards as an NBA franchise is kind of ridiculous, in my opinion.
