important point by the team executive. they know they need more depth, but they don't have a lot of guaranteed deals so they can spring in and get someone. also important point that they don't play a bunch of bench guys so if we had 3 solid contributors that's enough.

counterpoint - we can only add depth using minimum contracts because tilman won't go over the tax. so i'm not sure, unless we are talking about buyout season, who else we can get for the minimum that's better than who we already have. we will be in the mix with the lakers, clippers, warriors, bucks, and sixers for buyout signings. however we are the only contending team with MLE money left to spend. hypothetically we can outbid if tilman wants to go over the tax.

    Good post.

To the 1st# tho - - depth, er quality depth is imp't because stuff happens. Everywhere. Who's in the Super Bowl? My bet is on the 2 healthiest teams to emerge. NBA isn't far off (as we the fans who rock our Rox know all. too. well).

To the 2nd# - - I am not a TFer. I should add: 'yet'. I am pessimistic for a few reasons but hope hope hope to be proved wrong wrong wrong. However, TF's lux tax prob is his mouth. His predecessor would avoid tax and did, year-after-year. Just once (twice?) did LA ever pay a tax. But Owner Alexander was a muted member of the franchise-owning community.

The 2 healthiest teams would be the teams relying the least on their depth.

Ah, yes. You are correct, yet, stuff does happen. The survivors survive when even their healthiest days require quality fill-ins.

Love the delay weave and all its options. Beautiful.

And it will work even better with adding another dive threat like WB.

I think this supports my original thoughts on how things should be structured when both Harden & Westbrook are on the court.

Westbrook pushes the tempo , testing transition defense and if nothing comes of it Harden takes over as the trailer in either a pick and roll or ISO set …. with Westbrook as a cutter rather than spotting up. That's gonna generate a whole lot of open 3's for Tucker and xXx.

Its gonna be a better team than last year (which is why i dont agree with clutch that westbrook was a bad trade for the rockets), but we still need to plug that hole at the 4. Id like to have at least one rotation player with size at the 4.

I agree with this post 101%.

Been thinking they cant be done with roster moves yet …. have to get someone else that can play minutes at the 4.
The question is who …. and how.

I said this in another thread (what do we need?):
