Trading for George and signing Millsap will make us a legitimately solid defensive team in addition to our excellent offense. I would be ecstatic to land those 2 players
What makes the Rockets think they can lure these big names, if they couldn't even get Bazemore to sign... He was the first guy they approached.... Glad they didn't he was would have been terrible...
This would be epic I agree. This would be a pretty dynamic team offensively and defensively. Millsap has a three point shot but rarely takes it. He might build on that if he came here to extend his game.
Imo... Griffin or Milsap should be our #1 target... We got a 3 guard rotation of Harden/Bev/EG on reasonable deals... leave it alone... it aint the sexiest combo but i believe it could be the 3 guard rotation on a championship team - with the right additional pieces... From there you gotta explore upgrading Ariza... see if you can swing PG - depending on price tag for a rental... if you can afford to add Gallo.... but top priority has got to be PF... you're gonna overspend - but you're gonna ditch Ryno's 20M/yr... Milsap is the conservative solid play... Griffin is the gamble with greater potential upside....Ibaka will be overpaid... Then you need someone to shore up the 5 with CC... as much as CP3 or Lowry are top players... they dont dont affect the point of differential as much as a pf could...
Hell, if we can simply just dump the Anderson contract and use that cap space to get Millsap and call it an offseason, we will still be a much better team esp from the defensive side.
hmmm.... totally gut the roster to get 2 more stars? yehhhhhhhhhh.... I'm gonna pass on having Matt Maloney as our starting pg.... Maxing Blake is around 5M more than Ryno... then let's tinker a little bit and see if maybe a Gallo fits in our budget if we lose Lou and another lesser piece or two (maybe for a cheap bu center)... or use the room exception on a bu center (I like someone like Speights if cheap enough) and call it an off season...
Why do people assume free agents are like a buffet. Choose this one instead. Not that one etc.. We are targeting Chris Paul because he is interested in us and there are legitimate signs he wants to join us.

There aren't that many signs unless you believe everything you hear. He's going to give the Nuggets just as much time to pitch as he is going to give us; yet somehow I don't believe he'll end up in Denver either.
