Carmelo Anthony is trash and his play this year has only confirmed it. He has an adjusted field goal average of 45%... his WS on offense this year is negative.
They don't just give out NBA player of the week awards to any old scrub -- takes elite Olympic level talent to win that one.
Jeff Green vs Markieff Morris: (bold favors Jeff) Years experience: 13 vs 9 Playoff games: 60 vs 24 Height: 6'8 vs 6'8 Wingspan: 7'1 vs 6'11 Weight: 235 vs 245 Career 3P%: .334 vs .345 Career eFG: .482 vs .490 Career Rebounds per 36: 5.4 vs 7.5 Off-court distraction: No vs Yes Chemistry: Yes vs No He's not a big needlemover but I'll take him over knucklehead Morris, who might be a little better offensively but has never been the ideal bench utility player.
"Carmelo's trash dude, according to his per, with TS% x his heart rate, he's ranked 189th". You guys are super nerds Carmelo Anthony 15pts 6rebs on 3pt-35% Eric Gordon 15pts 3rebs on 3pt-33% He's giving us better numbers than our best bench option, but somehow sucks. Yea ok
Injured fat Eric Gordon has less points this year than Austin Rivers, Wendell Carter Jr, Marqueese Chriss, Donte DiVencenzo, Damion Lee. What case are we closing? Carmelo Anthony is shooting the same field goal percentage on the same volume as Alec Burks, Lonzo Ball, Ricky Rubio. Is that what we're praising here?
Better eFG? Gordon Better TS%? Gordon Better win shares per 48? Gordon Better value over replacement? Gordon Better wins above replacement? Gordon 1 guy just signed a multi year 40+ million dollar deal and is having one of his worst seasons with injury as a serious factor. 1 guy signed a vet min deal after no one wanted him for a year and his performance this season is just about in line with the last few. Carmelo has been one of the worst players getting significant minutes this season. He is one of the least efficient shooters to take over 10 shot per game. You are probably a better defender than Carmelo at this point. Case closed.
Again Carmelo: 15pts 6rebs off 35% from 3 Eric Gordon: 15pts 3rebs 33% from 3 Better than Eric Gordon's stat line. Technically Melo's putting up better stats than our best bench player. So does Gordon suck?
Maybe in 1987 you could get away with comparing pts, rebounds and 3 point percentage and say one player is putting up a better stat line than the other, but it’s 2020. Ignoring injury and recent history is also a key part to your pro Melo stance. Never a good sign when you have to ignore reality.
lulz... Last few posts in this thread have been delicious. @rocketchamp being a true champ and taking a beatdown by clutchfans for his failed scrub hero Melo. Cementing his status as a lover of scrubs!
Like I've said, I've already won. Melo's back in the league & playing solid minutes. All of you said he'd never play again, then went off the grid his first month or 2. You said Westbrook, Melo, Mclemore & now Jeff Green were scrubs. You're all full of hot shiznit
Ever hear of eFG%? You should look it up. Carmelo is probably the most inefficient 15ppg scorer in the league right now. Basketball is a bit more nuanced than 3pt percentage bro LOL
Keep taking the beating, scrubchamp! Here is another L for you.... ....really enjoyed watching the young Pelicans attack that scrub Melo on defense all game last night and abuse him lol.
Eric Gordon was our best quick guard defender in playoffs, I won't even put Carmelo and defense in the same sentence
